What's their style of play? Who have they beaten? Does LSU match up well against them?

NC State has beaten Duke, Louisville, UNC, Cuse

Common opponent in WVU that LSU beat and State lost to.

The teams play very different styles. State has a lot of inside depth to handle martin and mickey though.

My gut response is that State would win this matchup

They are a very good team that plays very well against better opponents just like us and loses games they should win . They have beaten NC, Louisville and Duke I think.

Lost to Virginia in a close game. Lost to Notre Dame in OT.

Bad game to base your analysis off of. Cat Barber is playing totally different now

They can and have beaten some big time teams. They have also lost to more than a few bad teams as well. Does that remind you of anyone?

Also a nice coaching matchup for Jones. Neither one of the HC's should be invited to any coaching clinics

Guard dominated team, which doesn't bode well for LSU. 3-4 big men that rotate but aren't big scoring threats. They love to play up-tempo if you let them. Beat Duke, UNC and Louisville and had Notre Dame on the ropes. But also laid some real eggs, getting dominated by some of the worst teams in the conference. Very much like LSU in that they can beat anyone and can also lose to anyone.

Great post. Beejay anya vs Martin should be a great matchup of shot blockers

They will play up temp and run and gun. But that helps LSU. Nova on the other hand makes teams play half court offense.

This isn't really true. State has played different styles this season. See the UNC game for example

The Tigers got a tough draw. But that's what happens when you lose to crap teams.

That's due to UNCs depth.

As an LSU fan, I'm nervous about this matchup. As a State fan, I'm cautiously optimistic.

They had Virginia and Notre Dame beat. I saw some of those games. Like to run, solid guard play, can get very hot and very cold. Can beat anyone and get beat by anyone. They are basically the LSU of the ACC, minus big men.
