I went to state for 2 years. It's not nearly as bad as most here will make it out to be.

It's really easy to find a good time

Lil Dooeys for some really good bbq, then bounce around in the cotton district for a while

I'd rather get herpes than ever go back to Starkville. It's that bad.

Granted, it's not as good as most other SEC road trips. But you can have a good time

I'll defer to skip and smoke for this one:

"Starkville is Indian for Trailer Park"-Skip Bertman
"Everytime I go to Starkville I ask for a room without a view"-Skip Bertman
"Who is the Loneliest Person is Starkville? The Tooth Fairy"-Smoke Laval

Another Bertman:

Starkville is the only town in America where the population never changes. Girl gets pregnant, guy leaves town (repeat 3 times).

You should go just because road games are fun, but Starkville would be last on my list of SEC schools if I had to pick one.

Another skip story:

They were busing to a weekend series in Starkville and he had his players bring their school work with them so they could study on the way. They were pulled over by a state trooper shortly after entering Mississippi and the whole team was arrested for smuggling books into Mississippi. But, after about an hour or so at the police station there was no one that could verify whether or not they were actually books for the DA had to release them.

You should go to Starkville once to see what it's like. Just expect to enjoy the game, if you have your own tailgate, cool..if not find one.
