What kind of picture do you think these stats paint?

I was bored and pulled together some scoring stats based on quarter. I kind of expected to see that we scored relatively poorly in the 2nd half (especially the 4th quarter) while our opponents did the opposite.
However, it appears, the opposite is true.
Over a 5 year period we averaged the most points in the second quarter. As did our opponents.
2nd most for both us and our opponents was the 4th quarter.
The differences between halves were kind of significant in my opinion.
We held our opponents to 20 percent fewer points in the second half while our scoring only went down 2 percent.
I'm not sure whether this can be attributed to ground and pound/wearing down the defense and getting more ToP, or if it has to do with defensive adjustments (or something else altogether).
I know stats are a tricky game, but it seems like there is a lesson to be learned here.

Average Scoring by Quarter (5 years)
LSU
91.8 | 120 | 96.4 | 110.6
Them
52.2 | 73.6 | 44.2 | 56

Total Points per half (5 years)
LSU
1059 | 1035
*2 percent decrease
Them
629 | 501
*20 percent decrease

That doesn't fit the narrative. We must have just been losing a lot.
