I don't think most LSU fans are even aware of this hatred by USL against LSU. During the McNeese game, they kept showing the USL-Kentucky game on the screens and everyone in my section was obviously pulling for USL.

what he's doing with the talent that he has is amazing. imagine what he would do with the les miles' recruits? it would be unbelievable.

That's very true but Lsu could get such better coaches before him. They could get houstons coach or Western Kentucky or Bowling greens. Just to name a few mid major coaches.

They should have never changed from USL it sounds way better than ULL. Or they could just brand themselves as "South Louisiana" kinda like east Carolina does

The "LSU" people who start and post on these threads are mostly from around Acadiana and could not get into UL, so they became sidewalk LSU fans, mainly to vent their resentment of UL.

Kind of like how some folks in Acadiana couldn't get into LSU (or beat them in football), so they became sidewalk Alabama fans?

I understand that lsu could get more "popular" coaches. there's no doubt about that. but, when you can take a bunch of second tier kids and win four bowl games in a row, that's something to be proud of. also, have you ever heard him speak? he's gonna be a great coach somewhere. probably will go to state and make some noise one day.

I wouldn't know.

I have degrees from both universities.

I also have degrees from both. I never understood the hate. I guess some people have such thin skins that they have to hate on people/places/things/teams of which they can never be a part.

They are not rivals and never will be rivals. Period. It is not wrong to cheer for the bigger more prestigious team if you go to or went to the smaller school that is undoubtedly on the rise.

Hell, I'm an LSU grad and to be honest, I wouldn't mind if they were officially known as The University of Louisiana. I mean it's not like it's going to hurt LSU athletically they are still playing in the Sunbelt. I sometimes think tat they hate the fact that LSU blocked them from being THE University of Louisiana and thus they became UL - Lafayette...it's a resentment thing.

Oh there are. Believe me there are a lot of LSU fans here. There however is a vocal segment that hates LSU and they do it loudly.

Correct. Most people in Lafayette are LSU fans. There is this vocal minority, mostly ULL alumni, with short man syndrome.

They should be the other flagship. There's no reason Louisiana can't have two flagships. They seem to be the clear second choice for kids in state to go to. Cheap nice campus and is growing like crazy. It wouldn't hurt LSU athletically at all

There's 34-17 in chalk all over the place on campus. I just don't get the envy with the Tigers. We about to go 4-7 fans should worry about what's going on over here than in BR
