Don't attack me if it has been addressed before. I tried to search for it but don't even know what to call it! The softball players are doing it too, so I know it must have a definitive meaning.
Thanks Ranters

I think it means "You must be crazy to pitch to me" after they get a good hit. I did notice that softball has been doing it lately, I think they just picked it up from baseball.

supposedly it's a secret that they will reveal after the season ends.

I noticed this during the regional. Maybe LSU let them in on the secret...

just what the team does after a big hit. they had done the chopping wood thing on their legs the past couple seasons. baseball players do unusual things like that all the time. they don't always have a logical explanation

They do something every year, in previous years they would chop down towards the knee

Bregman said he would explain it after the season is over if anyone remembers to ask him

It could have so many meanings..It gets me fired up everytime they do it because it seems to start a huge rally when it gets going!

I think it's a wind-unwind motion, signifying the yin/yang nature of the ebb and flow of the game. The ego vs. the id, sort of a doppelganger self on base while non-self, i.e., bench persona, sends positive reinforcement.

I hope that makes sense.

Probably means that was highlight reel play. Playback- rewind - playback. Just a guess.

Sorta like what the football players used to do - the flat back-and-forth half wave chop thing right over the top of their helmets- which I took to mean 'there is no limit, there's no ceiling to what we can do.'

They've always had something they do when they hit a double. They used to do a leg chop which I think meant "That's how big my dick is you pussy!" Bit I guess they had to stop that so now they do that homo twirl thing with their fingers.

I am scared because it sort of does make sense...:)

It always looks to me like they are saying...you thought t was going this way, but now it's going this way...like it is unwinding for the other team.
