basically, we should field a defense long on promise and short on experience. our lb's are talented but, for the most part, undersized so I hope for Beckwith and Jones to be integrated into the rotation asap. the dline should be able to hold their own and our ends will exert pressure but one season ending injury could really make us vulnerable and we all know Loston has been injury prone. if we avoid substantial loss of playing time for our returnee's we will be good/very good, but if we have to rely on true freshmen, however good they are, we will be stressed. JMO.

get better.

1) We had only 5 DEs at Spring practice. One of those guys was injured (Maclin) and another is a converted LB (Feist). Basically, we have Rasco, Allen, Hunter, and a bunch of freshmen. That's not a great situation at that position.

We have more than enough bodies with potential. Out of those 10 guys it's more than reasonable to assume that 4-5 are SEC ready. Brick Haley is the best in the business for a reason.

2) We couldn't cover elite receivers last year. Hopkins and Moncrief tore our asses up. We are lucky that Amari Cooper didn't play in the Bama game. I'll borrow a quote from Nick Saban here:

That was mostly Simon and he had a down year. Plus Cooper did play last year.

I personally don't think he's gonna cut it.

Yet Chavis is very impressed by him.
