What is Miles' legacy if he never wins another NC at LSU?

Will he go down as one of the most underperforming LSU coaches compared to the amount of talent he had at his disposal during his tenure here?

On a related note, what does he need to come out of Saban's shadow? Is there any chance he could retire as a better coach than Saban both in people's perception and in terms of championships won?

Miles doesn't need to do anything because he's not in Saban's shadow. The man's record speaks for itself.

Geez, your question is painfully misguided.

Goddamn, y'all are harsh, I think it's a legit topic for discussion.. Much better than most of the threads on the rant.

he'll be the Bobby Cox of college football, be thought of as one of the great coaches in SEC History, and likely be inducted into HOF.

On related note, this aint 2005

Many fans probably still feel Les is inferior to Saban. Level headed ones don't but some fans are frickin retarded. I have a friend that think Jamarcus was the worst QB to ever play for LSU.

This guy swears JR was the worst QB we've ever had. He still, to this day, has to remind me whenever I see him. JRs 2006 season was remarkable, the dude lit it up! I don't get it.

I think Miles has had 4 great years at LSU, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2011. Saban had 2003 and an SEC title in 2001.

2005 was a great coaching job. The miserable offense made 2010 not that fun to watch.

True but after '08 and '09 nobody thought we would win 10 games.

Greatest coach in LSU football history bar none!
Saban wasn't here long enough to claim that honor, and Les has had by far more success at LSU than any other coach including Saban at LSU.

I don't know why people can't understand this.
