What I WANT to happen/What WILL happen (QB's 2017-2021) (long-ish)

2017:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Etling will start his senior year. He's not spectacular, but he is mostly accurate and a good scrambler that can extend drives, and if he's as a good a learner as I suspect he is, he'll pick up Canada's system quickly and be able to execute it. O and Canada will take his experience into account and give him the job, and he will never be bad enough to lose it. Harris will stay as a senior and back him up, Scott will be 3rd, McMillan will transfer to a non P5 school, Brennan and Narcisse will redshirt. Brennan is okay with this.
WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: This. Etling is the first QB in a few years that hasn't made me wet my pants in fear when he trots onto the field. I would love to see Harris improve his running ability and have Canada design a few runs/RPO's to use a handful of times.
2018:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Myles Brennan will start as a redshirt freshman. He'll have put on weight, had a year to learn the offense, and will come out of the Spring ahead of Scott and Narcisse. Lowell Narcisse will back up Brennan, Lindsey Scott will be 3rd.
WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: Scott backs up Brennan, and is used the same way Canada had used Harris the year before.
2019:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Myles Brennan secures his role as the starting QB, Narcisse continues to get minimal reps, Lindsey Scott once again, unfortunately, rarely if ever sees the field.
WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: More of Scott in the wildcat (yeah he's not a RB but whatever it's called when the running quarterback comes in the game-wildcat, dammit).
2020:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Brennan starts as a junior, is one of the top returning QB's in the SEC. I have no reason at this point to think he'll struggle-everything points to him having an outstanding career. Not ready to say he'll be a heisman contender or anything just yet, but he'll at least be to most LSU fans what we'd consider "really, really good." Narcisse is the back up, gets minimal reps. Having graduated and being buried in the depth chart for 4 years, Lindsey Scott transfers as a 5th year senior to a non P5 school (Harvard, perhaps) and enjoys a fine senior season.
WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: I'd honestly be okay with everything in this scenario.
2021:
WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Myles Brennan goes to the NFL. He'll have graduated and his draft grades will be good enough to be a 3rd rounder or better. Lowell Narcisse becomes the starter as a 5th year senior and performs well in his last year.
WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN: Brennan is LSU's Colt McCoy, wins the Heisman.

You are going to get called a racist.

For voicing his opinion? Yeah you're probably right

this is very accurate imo....great take on the future

Narcisse or Brennan may be the answer we have been looking for.
Or it may be Scott.
I like those odds. Not scenarios that leave out maybe the best QB on the roster.

As much as I wanted to see Harris do well, he just doesn't get it. Don't discount Narcisse too soon. He could be that "other guy" next year. He already looks like he has Cam Newton/Tim Tebow size.

I don't make the rules here.
Just been around long enough to see how things go.

So, where is the part where we recruit another QB and half the fans want them to start over our QB in spite of never seeing the new QB play. The other half pretty certain they are qualified to talk about his throwing mechanics
Do you know what the wildcat is?

I don't understand why everyone sleeps on Scott. The guy is an absolute baller and knows how to make plays. I don't see anyway that Narcisse (other than size) is better or more polished than Scott.

in 2018 we will have Narcisse,Scott, and Brennan ready for play, logjam. sit Etling start Scott, let somebody beat him out, somebody gonna leave.
Posted on 1/2/17 at 9:36 am to Bayoutigre
Are you saying we should sit our senior QB, start a player that no one has seen play over him, so that two RS freshmen won't transfer?

Def respect your opinion. But think about it, when is the last time a non running QB won the Heisman. My hope; Canada models his offense after Saban. As Lee Corso would say, "Watch Out"!

Heisman?
Worked out well for Louisville it appears.

Brennan's a huge LSU fan and his family is VERY well off. If he leaves early then he's a top 10 picks. He ain't leaving early for the 3rd round.

Re-read the question. Lamar Jsckson is a running QB. When is the last time a NON- running QB won it?
