I know just like everyone else who watched the beatdown Bama gave us that we were manhandled that game. But it seems to me like the media is making it seem like it was like a 38-10 type score. Like I said, I know they handled us. But it was 30-16, shoulda been 30-17, with 9 min left. This is a 2 score game against what the media thinks is one of the Top 2 teams in the country. Point being let's say we scored with like 2 min left and lost 30-23, which wasn't impossible had we stopped them on a few 3rd downs. Does this change the beatdown angle? When I think of a bad loss, 30-16/17 doesn't do it for me, regardless of the game itself. All this tells me in my opinion is that with better O-Line play and Special Teams, this could have been a one score game. I know I know...TLDR

You bring up a lot of scenarios that didn't happen. Yes if we would've scored more then the game would've looked closer and we would've had a chance to win. Point is we didn't and got our asses handed to us. The score was only as close as it was because of a late game turn over and short field touchdown.

That's kind of my point. We played horribly and lost by 2 scores. Usually when a team plays really bad, it's not a 2 score game. I just think we are better than most teams in the country, but I understand that this is just the way it is.

All you need to know

Les and the rest of the staff who game planned did this team, university and fans a disservice by making Bama look like world beaters. They are not that fricking good. Look at how ole miss and Arkansas played them. LSU consistently makes Bama look better than they are. It's maddening.

Blame them for the new polls

I edited at the end. LSU is responsible for Bama and LSUs ranking. Don't shite the bed and don't get viewed as overrated. That's the new narrative.

Nobody cares about the score. If you watched the game you know that LSU had no business being on the same field that night.

Like I said, yet we lost by 14. Embarrassing for us Tiger fans, but 14 is not horrible considering how bad the game really was. But I'm cool with a Sugar Bowl.

The number doesn't matter. The eye test does.

I think 9th is perfectly fair. If we win the next three games, we should easily pass up Iowa. Notre Dame plays Stanford and Oklahoma St. plays Baylor, someone has to lose those. So that gets us to #6 even if Bama wins out. A couple more upsets and we could be top four.

there was almost a full quarter left when we got the turnover....lol...and LSU gifted them a short-field touchdown in the second half as well. Had Harris not froze up and LSU continued it's success from the second quarter....and LSU took the ball to start the second half and took the lead...probably a completely different game. It didn't happen....but there are tons of momentum swings during a game of that magnitude....it's funny guys like you focus on only one side of the equation....

You might add that this only counts for LSU. Other teams, such as Stanford, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and I'm sure there will be others...it's perfectly ok that they shite the bed now and then.....they are worthy...but LSU isn't, despite what will likely be one of the best resumes in the country should LSU win out. Makes sense.

OP has a point.

Bama loses to Ole Miss on 5 turnovers and it is a fluke so loss forgiven! Yet beats A&M with 6 turnovers and it is just because they are that good. #4 ranking in initial CFP polls!

LSU starts at #2 and gets its first loss to Bama. 'Obviously', that means Bama is the best or second best in the country... despite their one loss (excused fluke, remember?) but LSU, they must suffer the consequences for their loss! Down the polls with them!

It is quite a ridiculous double standard, but easily solved once you realize that the polls care more about the sticker on the side of the helmet first & foremost. It is a sham and always will be as long as there is a poll to determine who's worthy and who's not.

It's classic overreaction after a game like that. It'll work itself out in the end. I don't it was absolute beat down as everyone says. But the stat line reads fournette less than 50 yards is what everyone is reacting to

That's what happens when a pretty good team plays a very good team.

Based on that logic, Ole Miss are world beaters since they allowed Bama two garbage TDs to make their score closer.

Had LSU scored a garbage TD and made the score 30-23, would LSU get the same pass the media gave Bama?

LOL. No.

And we threw the first interception of the year on the opening series of the third quarter giving them a short field.

It works both ways.

^^^This. Everyone forgets OM was up by 3 scores late in that game.

I had the same thought OP did. While we got our arse handed to us it wasn't the overexaggerated blowout it's being made out to be. It's not like that 58-3 disaster against UF in 1993.

This is the key, but if you rewatch the first half, the game wasn't so bad. The second half stunk after the INT. There were plays to be made, but we left them on the field.
