IF LSU wins out, including the SEC Championship Game. Then Bama wins out with the exception of the LSU game. Does the committee take a 2-loss LSU SEC Champ, or a 1-loss Bama non-SEC Champ, or neither?

I need the results of everyone else in college football to determine the answer.

Bama can lose out and will still make the playoff

Let's assume that the SEC gets 1 team in. If that's the case, how do you vote?

Not sure...I hope so.

a 1-loss Bama non-SEC Champ

This would be crazy....I'll admit it would trigger the frick out of me.

neither

This would be my bet. They've been waiting for an opportunity to leave the SEC out of the championship scenario for a long time now.

Both is right.

And then Coach O plays Jarrett Lee in the 2nd half in the Championship Game rematch and we come back to win or at least go down fighting.

This happened when only 2 teams made it to the playoffs. Now that it's 4, this happens WAY easier.

So, this is just a Us vs Bama question. I thought you wanted an actual scenario.

How much did LSU win by?

What is the health status of the teams?

Yea but the champion was the other team....in the scenario that I was describing only 1 SEC team makes it.

If the SEC has a chance at getting two teams in it will either be us vs Bama or aTm vs Bama.....so seems like a legit scenario

If LSU were to win out, there shouldn't be a question that they meet the criteria of being one of the four "best teams." That's assuming Bama meets expectations and finishes 11-1. LSU would absolutely need that feather in their cap to have a shot.

Would also help a lot for TAMU, Arky, Ole Miss, and Florida to all finish decent as well. Would need at least a couple of those to finish in the final regular season top 25.

I'd just hope the cancelled USA game doesn't screw them over.

In a perfectly rational world, it shouldn't. But you never know what kind of human bias will play a role when you see a 10-2 record stacked up against a bunch of 12-1 and 11-1 records.

11-2 would be a lot more palatable for a group of biased human beings.

If your only loss is to a conference champion and there is no rule on having to win the conference...

Bama's loss looks a lot better than either LSU loss.

The other is head-to-head. That is why score and health have to play in to the decision.

Head to head and conference champs are both part of their criteria.

News flash. The press doesn't think much of LSU. There are eight teams with two losses or more that are ranked higher than us, including four SEC teams (three in the West).

We're going to be the "fly in the ointment" in your scenario. We'll be the "gosh I don't think they're that good but they eeked out those wins and are technically the SEC champ" and "If LSU/Bama play on a neutral field, Bama wins 8 out of 10 times" and "I know they are the SEC champs but I think they are at best the third or fourth best team in that conference."

Get ready for it.

Wouldn't that be their record if they win out?

10-2. They won't be playing the USA game.

11 regular season games + SECCG

absent some unique and strange circumstances, the committee isn't going to invite a non-conference winner.

Now, when the playoff expands to 8, then of course. But not now.

the committee isn't going to put in two teams from a single conference, not with the playoff only at 4 teams. That would mean TWO Power5 conference champs get left out.

Absent a very unique scenario, it's just not going to happen.
