Slow down for what?

It's a perfect question to ask. The guy has been underutilized his entire time here.

Wouldn't be the first time Les lied to Shepard if that is in fact what happened.

I love all the scouts/general managers in here stating Shep would be working at BK if he had not come back

He is thinking that he was WAY overrated coming out of high school but he got a free college education all the while never living up to his high school hype.

RS is a great player.

He's given 110% at LSU even though this offensive coaching has been subpar.

LSU has been lucky to have him.

The so-called "fans" in this post are lame.

Pretty much the most blatant misuse of talent that I have seen at the college level.

Shep averages over 6 yards per carry as a frosh and soph so Les cuts his rushes to 7 his junior season. Brilliant, try to make a downfield WR out of someone successful out of the backfield.

I honestly think he would be great at Oregon running the ball. He was good in the wild cat in 2009. All of a sudden we got away from that.

He is not overrated he has dropped some balls I will give you that but of he was at Oregon he would be a Heisman candidate! He is explosive in the open field. He has black mamba type speed but isn't send because Les will not allow it. Les wants players to fail to make a point. It's his goddam team and there going to do what he wants.

who's gonna draft a wr that didn't start and had less than 70 career catches?

I wonder why he ever even considered LSU - his skill set was made to order for an Oregon type offense.

That is the new strategy of the Les Pumpers now...to mock and bash LSU players. Its really all they have left to run to...we have untalented players that just aren't good enough to execute our genius game plan.

I think the following is telling:

quote:

At halftime of the Florida game, in which he did not play a snap, Shepard saw that his future at LSU was elsewhere than behind center. He asked to be moved and spent the rest of the season as a running back/wide receiver/Wildcat quarterback...It was no small decision to ask for a move. Shepard said LSU Coach Les Miles offered him a chance to stay at the position until the end of the season, but his mind was made up. "I talked to Coach Miles two days later, " he said. "I had stayed to myself, stayed in my room and was thinking about the whole thing. I want to play in that atmosphere. I don't want to be a five- or 10-(play) guy, I want to be able to play 60 snaps. Jordan (Jefferson) is going to be the quarterback of this team. We're only a year apart. The Florida game made me open my eyes and realize I probably needed to make a switch."

Remember...it was that game where we scored 3 points yet made no adjustments whatsoever.

Can you imagine the offensive output Shepard would have if he had gone to Oklahoma State, Nebraska, or Oregon?

He probably has more career touches than Keiland had at LSU, and KW has drawn NFL paychecks

He ain't getting drafted. He'd be playing pick up games in Texas if he had left LSU.

Exactly, bet his biggest reason for coming back was finishing his degree on the schools dime......he's gonna need it.

Slow down there. He'd still be dropping balls.

Watch them again now that Monken is there. Walsh runs all over the place.

If RS has the talent to be drafted, he will be drafted. All he needs to do is go to one of those draft camps and get ready for the combine. There are many NFL players that got themselves drafted or invited to camps with less than stellar college careers. Regardless of his career at LSU, he either has what it takes or he doesn't.

I've heard he's a really charismatic guy. Maybe he has a future in recruiting for LSU.
