So I am taking a break from studying for a DE2 test, and I was wondering if these guys take any solid classes. Most of them just major in Sports Admin/Management, KIN, training, general business, etc. with the intention of leaving their junior year.

IIRC, Jacob Hester was trying to become a dentist, LF7 is in engineering (?). I can't remember that many people coming to school and pursuing difficult degrees.

With only around 2% of college athletes making it to the pros, shouldn't they be trying to get a decent degree?

Foresight and a fallback plan are not strong suits for many collegiate athletes, particularly when it comes to the big three.

Plus, given their 'rigorous' sports-related schedules (i.e. lifting, conditioning, practice, film study, etc.) most of them would state that they are unable to pursue a study/time-intensive degree program.

I took investments with Donnie Jones and Advertising with Randal Gay when I was there. I hope most of the players take some of the upper level business courses.

I read earlier this year he was studying engineering, and someone in the thread the other day said he was in their thermo 1 class

He must've switched or something then. I am about to scour through this roster and see who is actually taking school seriously

Fair enough. I admittedly didn't stop to consider golf, track and field, cross country, swimming, equestrianism, softball, bowling, lacrosse, etc.

Fournette as a coach after his pro career.

"Kid what do you not get about this? See the hold, hit it hard, juke the linebacker, throw the other linebacker off of you, and then truck the safety. TD. What's so hard about that? "

Preferred scheduling, round the clock tutors & every structured advantage possible makes it seem like a degree in anything should be inevitable.

LF7 needs to be in accounting/finance.

That way he can check and make sure his future money managers aren't ripping him off.

That's just an asinine statement. At the time I was in school the athletes had a better gpa and graduation rate than the general student body.

I saw my primary care physician this week... former baseball player.

My financial advisor? Former baseball player.

Attorney? Take a guess if he's a letterman or not.

Former athletes are all over this town that are doctors, lawyers, engineers, business owners, and much more. So don't give me this shite about athletes not going to school or not having a "fallback plan."
