What are some things to do in Hoover/BHAM away from the tourney?

What are some things to do before/after games? I'd like to get out and do something before heading to the stadium and maybe some stuff after the night game.
Also, anything interesting between BR and BHAM to stop and see?

Go to On Tap and get FUBAR'd on local brews so you can be loud like the Tiger faithful should be.
ETA: Seriously, Bham has a bunch of great food and drink places if you want to get out of Hoover. There was a thread on the Food and Drink Board a week or so ago about this.

It's a really beautiful area. Go tour it.

It's a pretty area and you can help it stay that way by acquiring a Gump hunting license.
There's NO limit!

Railroad park downtown and Vulcan park are 2 places me and my wife go a lot that are both pretty cool. Lot of local breweries around the city that we like going to.
Check out lakeview if you have a free night. Pretty cool bars down there that usually have live music.

Highland grill and Botega are both downtown and they are fantastic restaurants if you don't mind spending the money.
Slice and five are 2 other really good places that are a little more wallet friendly.

Teabag someone
Kill some trees
Shoot your TV
Get your wife to jump opposing fans (while drunk)
Get a tattoo that covers your back
Go to Walmart, Buy a Bama 25 National Championships T-shirt and walk around and say Rawl Tiiiddde!

Tons of Outdoors stuff. Kayaking, camping, hiking...Oak Mountain park is super close. Ross Bridge is a very nice golf course. 5 Points South downtown on the weekend for night life. You can go see the Paul Bear Bryant Museum in T-town if you're interested in that sort of thing. Barber Motor Speedway has a racing museum, I believe, Im not a motorhead.
ETA: I looked it up and there is a vintage racing museum at the track.
Just a few things, really depends on what you want to do. If you like the outdoors, its great.

If you're around for the weekend and want to stay in Hoover, try Voodoo (used to be Iron Horse). They remodeled and it's a decent weekend crowd. Live music and good bar food.
If you want to go into greater Birmingham, try the Lakeview area. There's about a dozen bars within a few blocks of one another.
Iron City is a nice live music venue. I'm not sure who is playing there this weekend.
Five Points has 3 or 4 bars and is close to some very high quality restaurants (Botega, Hot and Hot, the place that used to be Viranda, Highlands Bar and Grill, etc.)
Even though you'll have baseball burnout, the new Regions Field is a very nice baseball park and brings a good and attractive crowd. And Good People's Brewery is right across the street and just renovated. Very cool hangout.
The Met is pretty close to The Galleria Mall, and tons of chain bar/restaurants. You may also want to check out The Summit, which has several restaurants and high end shopping. Go to the Chuey's there for good atmosphere and a fantastic view.
