I don't hear his name mentioned at all. He turned Temple around in a hurry. They were extremely competitive even though they were completely outmanned by Notre Dame this year. He's young and has been in coaching since he got out of college.

I like that he's coached in both college and the pros and has coached both sides of the ball. He is extremely energetic, and I think he will be one of the next great coaches in college football.

The only issue I see with him is that he might go running if momma (Penn State) came calling.

Lighten up, man. If Jimbo Fisher falls through, LSU is going to have to scramble to find a good coach. He is just throwing a name out there.

Your response is exactly why this process is and will continue to be fricked. We're not going to get the best available candidate. We're going to get the biggest name we can get.

We're going to end up like Texas. They went after every big name they could think of and got rejected by all of them, and had to settle for Charlie Strong before it got ugly.

Why not? I'm not saying we should hire him as he is not anywhere near experienced enough, but I wouldn't shoot it down like he's some reject. Dude has moved up very quick in his career. He took over a program that was 1 vote away from being removed from existence just a few years prior. Watch Temple's games and I think you will see a future major program head coach. Temple lost to Notre Dame, but I guarantee those ND players wanted nothing to do with Temple again. Temple plays a physical style of football, for it being Temple.

Texas i ugly because mack stopped recruiting and ones he did were kicked off team strongs first year for them being trouble off field.

Its why i never understanf the people claiming keeping les is gonna be a mack brown situation. Couldnt be more different

The reason you don't hear his name brought up often is because you're one of the only people stupid enough to come up with the idea that we would buy out miles for 17 million dollars and then bring in the fricking Temple coach.

Exactly.

And my suggestion is assuming that they don't already have their guy locked up. I honestly hope that they were able to get as close to a verbal as they could get from the person they have in mind.

If it is Jimbo, he might do very well. He is definitely one of the only coaches in America who can hold a candle to Les in terms of recruiting. But, he was able to dominate a very weak ACC with the best player in college football for two straight years. So, we'll see if he can be consistent without that. He certainly took a step back this year.

He's just throwing names out for discussion. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you have watched exactly 0 Temple games. I was actually hoping Matt would catch on at a bigger school and maybe when Les retired, we could snatch him up. But, I dont think we should take him right now. He still has some proving to do. But I like his style, thats for sure.

That's why this whole situation is fricked unless we already have our guy locked up. Otherwise, it's going to be a shite show because we'll be forced to hire somebody like Chip Kelly who is a horrific fit for our program.

That's right. One of the reasons I brought him up was because for some weird reason I watched them against Tulane, Notre Dame and SMU this year. They were pretty fun to watch.

That's great. You'd be incredibly ignorant and wrong by going out on that limb.

It's a pointless name to throw out because LSU isn't going to pay out 17 million dollars to fire it's winningest coach ever to bring in a guy that only avid college football fans are aware of. Either smiles stay or we get a big name. To think otherwise is completely foolish.

I liked how physical they were. They are not a team that plays the typical small school game.

Another astonishingly stupid comment. If you don't think Chip Kelly is an upgrade you're hopeless.

Fair enough. I have said from the beginning I don't think we should hire him right now, but what about if Miles stays one more year and retires(as is being rumored)? Then we are not paying 17 mil and will have to take the best we can get. I would put Matt in my list of "Happy to get" coaches, if he has another great year next year.

Chip Kelly is an absolute upgrade if we can get him this year. It's starting to feel like Jimbo, Chip, or Les at this point.
