You'll probably be stuck with him even with 8-9 wins.

If we win 10 or 11 games...don't you think he is doing something right? He had a decent game plan against Florida.

That is a good question. I would love to see the Tigers go all the way or at least win the West & play in the SEC CG but does that mean it would then be impossible to get rid of crowton? And don't give me the "why would you want to get rid of the OC who got you the 10-11 wins & into the SEC CG" I think it is very clear that crowton is the weakest link on this coaching staff. He has yet to truly develop a QB-flynn got by on his football smarts, natural ability, & an outstanding class around him. I would LOVE to see Coach Miles cut crowton & bring in a Chavis-like OC hire. No matter where you sit on the whole Coach Miles issue, you have to agree that he & his teams are at their best when he has great coordinators around him-like most legendary coaches. Coach Miles can recruit & "run" the program, he just needs to surround himself with coordinators who can coach & plan for the talent he brings in. 7,8,9,10,11,12, or 13 wins, it is time to cut loose ends & get some offensive talent on the coaching side of this team for the top recruits that show up at LSU. I said I thought the only 2 things keeping LSU, & the talent that is on this team, out of the top 5 & most BCS conversations was our QB & OC. QB thing seems to be "coming around", let's hope the other 1/2 of that equation gets fixed.

With the offense clicking so well when JL is in the game, are you certain now that Crowton is really the problem!!!

Interesting point...

I've found that the offensive gameplan has suffered severely to lack of confidence or ability on JJ's part. Lee seems to run the gameplan just fine so what exactly is Crowton doing wrong?

I think he will be gone, even if we win the MNC.

It will be one of those post-championship moves disguised as moving on to a "better opportunity", you know, a head coaching job at Duke.

If we only lose 1 or 2 games this year then I think everyone who wants to stay can. Unless there is some major chemistry problems.

I think Crowton is starting to "Get It" the guy actually has his job to lose and the world to gain so therefore I expect him to start putting together a well executed gameplan, he's starting to figure out how to use his players and I hope he succeeds, I dont want the tigers to lose 3 or 4 games just for the fact to get rid of a coach I want them to win every single week and if we have gary crowton next year then so be it!!!

At some point, If I were Les, I'd try Gary Crowton with a QB that can execute before I threw him and his system out the door. I think our O looks pretty decent with JL running it and even much improved with JJ in a run first mindset.

Play calling duties need to be adjusted also. I'm not sure you have to change OCs to fix our issues.

Even when Jefferson is in the game, there are WRs running free on the field. Jefferson cannot go through his progressions to notice this. Crowton is a solid OC when he has a QB that can see these things. No coach could help JJ and Lee is progressing well. The plays are there but the execution is not.

I certainly didnt like the run run pass mode in the second half of the UF game, but I believe that very strongly to be the suggestion of Miles...ala..TENN game 2005. Miles is notorious for trying to sit on small leads. A lot of coaches do it and it comes back to bite many of them in the arse.

Gary Crowton doesn't look too bad when Jarrett Lee is playing, FWIW...

We are talking about firing coaches on a staff who lose 1 or 2 games?!?!?! In the SEC? (At that point, we would either be in the Sugar Bowl (at worst) or possibly playing for our second national championship in 4 years.) Seriously?

Perhaps if we fire Miles fast enough we could get throw a bunch of money and sway Mark Richt or Houston Nutt here!!!! We might get lucky and land Dan Mullens - he seems to be building a rock-solid program at Moo U.

The rantardedness is reaching new heights!

yeah, poor Crowton just needs a QB.

c'mon. This is Crowton's 4th season. He has major influence on who we recruit and bring in at QB.

And he has *all* the influence on the development of those QBs and how to tailor the offense for them.

Up until the last 2 weeks, he has failed spectacularly and miserably since Flynn used up his eligibility.

So, yes, I still am not a believer in GC. Basically, he has to turn around his trends that have followed him everywhere to show he's still the right guy to lead LSU's offense.

Crowton hasn't ever been the problem. It's always been the QB play. We're turning the corner with our QB's and have the opportunity to build on that fact next year with 2 senior QB's with a ton of game experience, a monster class about to be signed and all that backed up by 3 previous monster classes. The goal is to win. If our coaches are getting it done, support them. The best era in LSU football history is in front of us, not behind us.
