So the money behind the program wants a change...

And the plan was to stay hush about our current coach, quietly court another coach, but keep the existing coach as a plan B.

And as a result...

1. Media speculation ran wild
2. We didn't have a competitive counter for the coach we were trying to get, or we couldn't compete with the counter offer
3. The university's name got dragged through the mud and we're the subject of overwhelming amounts of media scrutiny

And I bet Joe expects the money to continue to roll in.

This is the epitome of incompetence.

I'm guessing Jimbo said no, and this win was enough to save Les.

Did you really expect Aleva to do anything useful?

Talking about ridding ourselves of Les, and then keeping him would have been worse.

I don't think the administration had any better option but to make no comment until the end of the season.

I don't believe the win was "enough" to save Les.

I think Les was the Plan B all along.

My guess is this is what happened. Jimmy Sexton tricked Joe Alleva into being a pawn in Sexton's Chess Move that got his client Jimbo a raise to stay at Florida St.

Not commenting until now only confirms that Les was a fallback.

Where's the evidence that Jimbo ever even considered leaving FSU? I suspect a whole lot of wishful thinking is all that was going on.

It'll be interesting to see what Jimbo gets in the next few days.

If he has no money changes then you know it was a political power play, boosters division, and a groundswell of support for Les that kept Him in place.
