There is nothing like weekday games anywhere else in sports. Voters don't hold them against you, committee seeders don't hold them against you.

Coaches use weekday games like scrimmages. They'll never use their weekend pitchers and they leave pitchers in too long to watch him battle, and pull others too soon so they can see the next guy.

I can remember years where Florida would lose nearly every weekday game and win every SEC series.

Ranters are acting like its a different sport. In college baseball, big schools darn near throw away these games so they can develop players for the future. We still try to win, but with the bats; meanwhile we FREQUENTLY have to face their #1 with our #4 and bullpen.

Winning midweek games are nice for overall record and RPI, but meaningless to voters.

I'm more disappointed that they scored 11 and still lost. That's just throwing away a win.

you're full of shite. if you think Lamar pitched their #1 or even their #2 or #3 you don't know shite.

I agree winning is not that important for any weekday game and coaches defininately need to experiment, esp at this time of the year.

and, just so you know, Lamar has more than one player that would start on this team. perhaps it is you that don't know college baseball. baseball is the #1 sport at Lamar; in fact they went decades with no football team at all. and their coach, Gilligan, can recruit and can manage; he's one of the best in the business.

Do I need to go link all the hundreds of #1's we've had to face in weekday games?

This is a thread about weekday games.

Lamar is a very good team. I was at the game, not home with stats. You may need to relax a little.

Do it. It doesn't happen nearly as much as people think. I do agree with most of the rest of your OP, though.

La Tech threw their Friday night starter last night for 105 pitches after he threw 80 this past Friday.

This is totally false.

... and it paid off with a home win over #6 ULL. That kid was shoving last night. Six innings 9 Ks and 0 runs...

The first win over a top 10 opponent since 2006... and on the day they debut their new field, no less.
