Bunting was the emphasis of todays practice and IMO still needs work. The position players practiced bunting instead of normal batting practice. During the scrimmage, every time a runner reached 1st, the batter would attempt to sacrifice, with mixed success. If he did get the sacrifice down, he got another at bat.

Played some SS this evening.

He'll probably fill a utility role again this year.

Fraley was the Gatorade Player Of The Year for 2013 from Middletown, Delaware. He is a top recruit we were fortunate to land.

Looks like they were pretty active on the base paths too. Did the catchers throw anyone out to go with swiped bags?

“Of all the players arriving on campus, Jake is probably the guy we most feared we would lose to pro ball. Jake is a frontline left-handed outfielder from Middletown, Delaware. As a high school player entering college, Jake is as close as it gets to the proverbial “five-tool player.” Along with possessing all of the physical traits to be a great ballplayer, Jake works tirelessly on becoming a better player every day which makes the sky the limit for his potential at LSU. Jake is a key component of this recruiting class, and we are ecstatic about seeing him take the field wearing the purple and gold.”

well I feel uninformed. look forward to my man doing big things.

This is a real problem. Defensively, no one has won that position and if that continues, it's going to really suck balls.

I think I've seen only one runner thrown out so far. And they run the bases like crazy at these scrimmages.
