We really aren’t giving #5 enough credit

IMO (maybe it’s just me) we are still collectively scarred from our relatively horrible, recent history with dual threat QBs. We’re also simultaneously spoiled by the unrealistic mantle Burrow left us.

Most of the accolades I’m seeing are crow eating and pleasantly surprised type responses. Both are appropriate, but this dude deserves much more.

He has been an absolutely amazing college quarterback down the stretch of this season. His abilities and decision making, now that the team has had time to gel, have been a fricking pleasure to watch.

Of course. They compared him to Jordan Jefferson & Brandon Harris, and said he should try WR or RB. That's all you need to know. Jayden is a hell of a QB.

he sure shows up big when we need it. that TD pass to Taylor was money. of course the last pass of the game was too. methinks he's a great QB

I am starting to believe that he has shown these abilities in fall camp / practice which is why Kelly / Denbrock gave him the nod—- and it just took some time under the big lights to bring it to the game.

Total conjecture.

I'll eat some crow, here.....he's been WAY better than I thought he might be.....he's not Joe Burrow in terms of accuracy (who is ??? ) but he doesn't make many mistakes and his threat to run has to be accounted for by defenses...

He played a heck of a game against the Tide...!!!

He has raised his passing greatly from the FSU game, but what blows me away is his running skills. The man out right flys and has great down field vision.

You’re right, he’s a stud.

Seems like a great guy with the intangibles you hope for, has one turnover which is incredible, tough, cool under pressure, etc.

One of the most clutch QBs I’ve seen in P&G. When the moment gets big, he’s typically the one to come up big. He looks so much more comfortable now versus even UT

Super impressed I honestly thought he was just an athlete playing qb and could only run. Proved alot of us wrong and I really want him to come back next year. To only have 1 interception all year so far is impressive

Do you know how many Clowns on this site said that he would NEVER be any good?

Essentially…if he wasn’t a good QB after 2 years, it was impossible to make any improvement.

The dude is a Gamer.

He’s a very good college qb. I like how calm and in control he is. His running skills are off the charts. Passing skills are above average. Definitely top tier qb, and LSU is lucky to have him.

He has been awesome the last 3 games. And you can now understand why Kelly stuck with him even when he wasn’t awesome.

They knew that they could make him turn the corner.

He’s better in his 4th year than Burrow was in his 4th year. Burrow made a big jump from 4th year to 5th, and I wouldn’t put it past Daniels to do the same given his trajectory. Kid just oozes confidence and a full offseason with our new S&C coaches will add about 10-15 pounds of muscle.

I think it took him time to learn to trust his receivers. My guess is, he was told not to throw the ball if he felt uncomfortable about it at his last school BECAUSE he did not have great receivers who had the ability to make plays happen. I think it took him some time to get past that and trust that these receivers are legit and can help him out as much as he can help them out. That’s why the first few games he was so hesitant and would run it himself quickly.

Yeah, I think you’re right. The massive override for him, individually, and the offense as a whole needed more time than the off-season provided, which unfortunately cost us a game.

This season is starting to show parallels to 2018 where the team is starting really build steam, but the ultimate pressure of a title might be out of reach. It’s fun, because we just get to enjoy it, whatever happens. Then, next year we get to sweat out some massive expectations.

The difference this time is it won’t be a one off because of generational talent at multiple positions, but rather a brewing, sustainable juggernaut.
