this is the last time i'm gonna post on the recent incident. it's not as big a deal as some are making it. all of the fire alleva, fire alexander, etc, etc hopefully will stop. it "appears" that we tried to fire miles and hire another coach, probably fisher. it didn't work, for whatever reason, and miles survived.

think about what the reaction would have been if it HAD worked. part of our fanbase would have been dancing in the street (and of course predicting 10 straight NC's) and part would be sad and part would be mad as hell at the way Miles was treated. the national media would have ramped up their criticism of LSU and many of our fans would have said we deserved it. recruits and their families would have questioned a decision to attend LSU and our program would have been in chaos for awhile; probably resulting in a lost year of recruiting.

and the new guy would have a lot of "enemies" from the get go and inevitably his play calling would suck and there would be calls for his firing way before the usual "honeymoon" period expired.

my point is nothing happened and a bunch of money was saved. miles can substantially save the recruiting class and everyone can move on. this perceived embarrassment is bull shite. we are off the news radar and will be forgotten very quickly on the national level. in fact, many I've talked to sang LSU's praises for "doing the right thing" in regards to Miles. he really came off as the innocent "good guy" against all those "evil" admin and fans that just want to win every game types.

once it got out LSU was serious, all results were "bad" for LSU. but, in reality, football should not be that important.

Maybe the quickest way to bring an end is to get a new AD

I trust you.

I have one lingering question that I can't quite figure out. If Jimbo Fisher has always been on Alleva's speed dial, and if Jimbo was always receptive to LSU, and if Jimbo was very interested in LSU's offer, why did he allow Sexton to out-negotiate Alleva? Did Sexton really win anything for Jimbo, did he get a raise from FSU?

You have stated that Alleva's huge mistake was not having a plan B. If Jimbo was wanting to make the move, it shouldn't matter what Alleva's plan B, he should have instructed Sexton to get the best deal possible, but don't lose the deal. We, on this side, are led to believe that Jimbo was ready. But you have stated that Alleva blew the deal. If that is true, why isn't Jimbo ready to fire Sexton for not making the deal?

That's a good point. Why act like an adult and wait and see what happens when you can act like a spoiled brat and bitch about something that hasn't (or may not) happen?

I just don't like the way it was handled. I am anti miles, so was disappointed, but F King and Alleva should have had a discussion when the Scott R article came out and squashed the rumors. It wasn't like F King didn't know how much the contract was for Miles and Staff and that appears to be the sticking point.

No communication as always and typical LA politics. That is what I am most pissed at.

Based upon the investment we have in our coaching staff it is very important.
