That you Hendo? If not resorting to childish insults because I don't cheer for who you cheer for is a dead ringer.
quote:

Drive around Lafayette and you'll see way more LSU bumper stickers, t-shirts, ball caps, etc then either ULL or Bama.

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything? I mean hell LSU is the most academically and athletically gifted public school in the state.

quote:

SOME ULL fans cheer for Bama, yes, and they do it because they are jealous of LSU. But MOST ULL fans are not Bama fans and they will cheer for LSU.

See the words you type may be true....but they aren't nearly as strong or as lasting as what I actually see and hear. During the 2011 football season (the undefeated one for Les) I was at a ND reunion and I listened to Coach Robicheaux's own son in law tell me how terrible Miles was.....this was after the Bama game by the way. I asked him who was better and I got Nick Saban and ULL's head coach. I asked him if he meant Mark Hudspeth and he said yeah that's him. This is just one lone example of the stupidity that I hear a lot.

Do Cajuns not get tired of throwing this bull shite around? I certainly don't think it. I have no problem admitting I don't like ULL. It seems I'm not alone. Where are you getting that anyone says it's onesided?

There are absolutely plenty of shite starters among UL fans on this board.
But there was also a huge thread Friday after UL lost Friday night on the tiger rant. So you can't get too mad about this showing up here after that.

I'll be the first to admit LSU has its overabundance of dummies as well....the Rant would be a ghost town without them.

I'm not really a die hard fan of any school or professional team. I like to see a hand full of teams do well and succeed, but most importantly I like to see good sports. If they don't succeed, my day doesn't change a bit.

Well, the city of Lafayette will benefit economically from having people travel here, in turn benefiting the state of Louisiana.

Therefore, what's good for Lafayette, is directly good for the state.

Who's mad? All I said is that I'm not cheering for yall because I don't like ULL.

I think it's sad your fanbase has plenty of people that show up on a Tiger specific board to defend every little comment made about ULL.

I can tell. No reason to call people that are more passionate about it sad though.

I'm sure Shreveport, New Orleans, any other area not around Lafayette, etc will be getting a boatload of benefit from a super regional in Lafayette.

I'll cheer for them in Omaha after I get my check from the super regional.

Contradicting statements much?

sad that people have this pure hatred towards any university/fan base

I know more people in Lafayette that hate BR/LSU than the other way around.

I'm not saying you're mad but plenty people are mad that this thread is on the rant.

Fans from every fan base show up on this board to so the same. This is clearly the best forum for anything college sports related, which is why so many people are on here, just so happens to be an LSU one.

Plus as we all know...people love to troll

Now that LSU has screwed the pooch I say Geaux Cajuns beat Ole Miss.

Agree totally!

Just because some of their fans would not cheer for The Tigers is no reason not to cheer for them. We're above that mentality!

I'm trying to figure out this mentality. Those dillweeds sure wouldn't do the same for us......those cheers you heard at the Tigue last night were for ULL beating MSU mostly but at least a little bit was because LSU was losing without a doubt. I still remember the happiness and joy they showed in 2012 when Bama beat us in the BCSNC. That win would have been great for the state....they didn't care. I realize I should be above all this and cheer for the team regardless of the fans, but living amongst these mouth breathers has jaded me severely.

I'm a ULL fan and I know myself and many of my ULL friends were miserable for a week after 1-9-12

My order of pulling for teams goes:

LSU
SEC (minus Bama)
Louisiana Schools (minus ULL)
Florida State (not sure why)
ULL

SEC trumps ULL.

I mean in fairness lots of LSU fans hate on Miles. Hell last night people took Manieri messing up as a chance to bang on Miles.

Do auburn and Bama pull for each other? Duke/UNC? Florida St./Florida/Miami? Oregon/Oregon St?

I could go on forever. There's nothing wrong with not pulling for a cocky, delusional fan base down the interstate. As many have said, their stadium cheered when it was announced we lost Sunday.

All of those teams play each other annually. All of those teams are big time rivalries. ULL and LSU are not and do not.

This can be said in regards to both fanbases. And FWIW nobody in the Tigue cheered when they announced y'all were down last night.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Those are all rivals.

Lafayette and LSU are not even remotely rivals. The Cajuns haven't even scored a touchdown on LSU in football. Ever, if I'm not mistaken.

I feel like if i lived in Ruston i'd be the same way about La Tech. Monroe same about ULM. But because i live in Acadiana and have to hear so much crap from ULL fans down here it makes it hard for me to pull for them. I know so many ULL fans that were excited with the LSU loss.
