...and end up in the damn Capital One Bowl. I wish they would make it to where more than 2 teams from a particular conference could go to a BCS game!

We could always root on Mississippi State and Auburn to pull one off on Bama then UF beat Bama.

Is there any guarantee that the sugar bowl would take Alabama/Florida over LSU if we qualify?

That would be hilarious

Well, typically they would want the higher ranked team for glamour purposes. And, if Bama and UF are both undefeated come time for the SECCG, then the loser would end the regular season ranked ahead of LSU.

I Still think we are #4 team in country no matter what the figs think. But yeah we could still get an iowa team. If osu loses could we play them?

They changed it so the SEC runner-up couldn't fall below a certain point after we went Peach as a Top 10 team in 2005. Since they've added an extra game a few years ago, they could stand to reconsider capping the conference at 2 teams.

I'd love to get Cinn. so we can show how overrated they've been all year along with the Big East.

Best case if we win out (including an impressive bowl win), and BAMA & Florida take care of business - SEC finishes 1, 2 & 3. That hasn't happened since the Big8 pulled it off in 1971.

I'm sure it would be complicated for the SEC to rig officiating to ensure three teams made BCS bowl games. But where there's a will, there's a way!

Bama would have to lose to State and Auburn for us to take their possible Sugar Bowl spot. Not gonna happen.

Pull for Miss St Auburn and Florida to kick the crap outta the gumps. We win out and will be sitting "sweet". Another home bowl for us and a possible top 5 finish.

Allow me to explain........

The BEST thing that could happen...

Baylor beats #3 TEXAS

Duke beats #7 Ga Tech

Ole Miss beats Tenn --- SOS

Vandy beats Kentucky --- SOS

USC beats #1 Florida

Washington beats #23 Oregon St

MSU beats #2 Alabama

LSU beats La-Tech --- No shite!

Georgia beats Auburn --- really doesn't matter

Idaho beats #6 Boise St

WV beats #5 Cinn

....and there you have it! Not very good odds, but I think a few of these could happen. I see us at #6 come Monday.

I gotta confess: I think I'd rather see a game in the Cap One Bowl against the likes of Penn State, Iowa or even Ohio State than a Sugar Bowl game against the likes of TCU or Cincinati or Boise.

Sure, the Sugar is a "BCS" bowl and probably pays a deal more. But would winning the Sugar result in a higher final ranking?

Personally, I think the Bowls and the NCAA/conferences hurt themselves with the conference tie ins and the whole "first pick last pick" stuff.

The Sugar bowl will have one of the first picks if they lose the SEC champ to the BCS Champ. There is nothing that guarantees them to pick the SEC Championship loser.

With the economy in the shape it is in, they will pick the team that they think will put asses in the seats and heads in the beds at local hotels. Now is that LSU or the SEC runner up? Who knows, but they are going to be playing a shitty team that probably won't bring a lot of people...aka cincy, boise, TCU

Of course that is all contingent on winning out

Personally I think it should be top 10 teams play no matter what.
1 vs 2
3 vs 4
5 vs 6
7 vs 8
9 vs10

The Sugar Bowl would most probably take the higher ranked SEC team. But there is a section in the BCS Selection procedure that allows two BCS bowls to trade if a team will go to the same bowl for a second year in a row. And if Florida plays Texas in the BCSCG then the Sugar will select 1st followed by the Fiesta Bowl. They can choose any BCS Auto Qualifier or At-Large team (not tied to another bowl). This will not help LSU because unless the Sugar chooses LSU or another BCS bowl does BEFORE another BCS bowl selects Alabama, we're shut out because of the one conference/two-team rule.

BCS bowl or not, if we finish 11-2 and my other predictions come true, here is what I see the FINALrankings being, with predictions of how they'll fare in bowls figured in:

1. Florida
2. Texas
3. TCU
4. LSU
5. USC
6. Alabama
7. Georgia Tech
8. Boise State
9. Cincinnati
10. Miami, FL
