“This is who we are on offense”- Burrow

Doubt you see LSU rushing for 200 plus like years past.

Get used to throwing for 350 and rushing for 150.

It is what it is

Yeah this sucks, I’d rather rush for 200 yards and get 17 ppg than this.

Just wait until the young RBs start to hit their stride. They are built for this system.

If you'll notice all three of the first teams we played were very worried about us running because of LSU's most recent history. That opened a lot of passing Lanes and LSU was just taking what the defense gave them. If they start dropping back into zones then you'll see a lot more running and more running successfully

Exactly. We could have lined up and rushed for 200 and thrown for 150 tonight. We would have only won 30-14 though.

Exactly. Ole Miss beat Bama a couple of times recently (scoring a bunch of points) without any RB worth a damn.

Is this a bitching thread? Because that’s what it sounds like.

LSU football has never been as fun as it has been in give last 3 games save the 2011 season when that team was rolling everything. Just enjoy the freaking season.

Few teams do anymore. That’s just the way football is going. It’s far more pass friendly.

I don't think anyone should read too much into the young running backs not playing as much so far. They are going to get lots of reps later as they learn the offense better. Even Leonard fournette as a freshman didn't get a lot of reps early

That's where taking with a defense gives you can possibly create success with Talent. What everyone should be celebrating about the LSU's passing offense is that they're taking what the defense gives them. All three of the First games have had our opposing defense sucked up into our play action. They were probably game planning for the LSU offense that they thought they would see

I think Northwesern probably had a clue we might pass some.

Sure but if you re-watch it and watch all of the play-action oh, they got sucked up in it every single time. They had probably game planned all summer for LSU and were expecting a run-oriented offense. At some point this season people will stop letting their linebackers be frozen by our play action but so far it hasn't happened this season

They will need to be able to run it better against teams like Bama, Florida, UGA, etc... to keep the passing game open. Those that have been winning championships can hurt you both ways.

Beats punting that sets up the run that results in a punt with hopes of a pass
