We are at a fork in the road

We are at a fork in the road in regards to this football program. I see deep trouble and despair down one path and hope in the other. I hate seeing Les Mile's tenure end this way, but he had lost the fans and it seems the players. It was time for him to go. However, what is troublesome is that we should have probably done this at the end of last year and gone through a proper search for a replacement. Now we are behind the eight ball and are going to be rushing to find someone to step in.
On one path I see continued mediocrity and despair. I see years of going down the wrong path with the wrong system and the wrong person leading this school's football program.
On the other path I see us heading towards hope and needed change which will bring about another golden era of LSU football.
The thing that NEEDS to happen is for LSU to pick the correct coach. We need someone with experience, but is still young. Someone who still has the fire in their belly. Someone that will adapt and change with the way football is being played today.
My problem is that having Alleva in charge is really giving me heartburn. I don't have confidence in him making the selection and hope that the final decision will not be his to make.
Fingers crossed, say a few words to whatever you believe, and hope that LSU can coral someone that can lead us on the right path.

Aleva isn't in charge of anything, he's a mouthpiece for the TAF.
If they say jump he asks how high.

Good post, and agree 110%! This should have happened last year, but we now get to deal with it. Gotta send the right msg to the current team, and 20 verbal commits out there. CAN'T let guys like Decalus, Shelvin, Brennan, and others get away. Let them, and their parents, know LSU plans to hire the BEST HC possible and keep rolling/winning! We are dedicated to winning, and this is why we made this move! How the admin handles this in the coming months will be crucial to the program.
Wish Coach O and the Tigers nothing but the best the rest of the season. One Team, One Fight....win em all!

We should've fired him last season and possibly had a chance to win this season but on the bright side it's obvious that there is a position open at LSU and we don't have to back channel. We might get the first shot at coaches we're interested in.
