Do we now have to worry about Penix? I have a feeling they are about to start their push.

If anything it will further split the west coast vote between the 2.

Good Penix press only helps Daniels- we are counting and hoping for west coast votes to be split between Penix and Nix. Penix getting the final TD was very very good for JDs changes with how great of a second half Nix had

Well no doubt JD’s chances went up tonight. I don’t know if I’d call it a lock but I feel pretty good.

Once again, there is no splitting of the West votes. A voter can put Penix number one on the ballot, Nix second, and JD5 third or lower. Or put Nix first and Penix second, with JD5 third or lower. So by the way the FOXSports PAC12 lobby is hard at work pushing the Penix Heisman hype hard this morning.

As I said in another thread, Penix was better than Nix but No. 7 was the best player for Washington last night.

The idea of anyone voting Daniels third or lower is unfathomable to me, but yes, I know some will.

The media is not one single entity. There are plenty of people in the media that have been saying Daniels should win for weeks others have been saying Nix should win, some may pivot to Penix given the results last night. But in the end “the media” is most of the people that vote

Nix and Penix dividing western 1st place votes rather than Nix sweeping them after a win last night is the VERY DEFINITION of splitting the western vote.

Daniels should carry 1st place votes across most of the rest of the country. ESPN will likely push him today, and they have far more influence than Fox. There’s also a bigger stat divide between Daniels and Penix. It’s all lining up for JD.

If the number one vote is split but Daniels is #2 on most ballots then he could accumulate enough #2 votes to beat both in total votes.

39 voters left Joe Burrow completely off their top 3 ballots (unthinkable) so the stupid, biased, arrogant few will do the same to Jayden because he's SEC and LSU and they didn't "win" enough.

It won't be enough. Jayden is going to win pretty handily, not record breaking, but I don't think it will be very close.

Voters inclined to vote against Daniels (not FOR anyone) lost their reason last night when Nix lost the game. Penix playing a little better (not stats-wise but eye test) than Nix probably vaulted him into second place.

Daniels will be this year's RG3/Lamar - type winner. Very deserving winner, and I think he will be a top 4 pick and 2nd QB taken. It was a pleasure watching him this year.

Those 39 should be stripped of their Heisman voting for life!
