LSU schedule is certainly set up for the BCSNC and I think USC is viable but watch out for Oregon. Senior QB and tons of speed.

Honestly I think USC has a better shot of making to to Miami because their schedule is much easier than LSU's. I also dont see any legitimate darkhorse teams that could make a run to Miami. After LSU blows out bama on November 3rd it will be engraved in stone that LSU will play USC for all the marbles in Miami

I've been wanting USC ever since the "split-championship" bullshite.

Nothing will ever "solve" that debacle. That was 9 years ago. And can't we all just agree that Oklahoma was the team that shouldn't have been there?

+1,000,000
Oklahoma got creamed in their conference title game. USC was #1 in AP. Should have been USC-LSU

I think USC fans are grossly mistaken when they think we were mad at the Trojans per se'; we were definitely PO'd that the national media kept going on and on and on and on and on ad nauseum then and even the following year about "USC's 2nd straight NC, going for a three-peat," etc. and absolutely """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""IGNORING""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
LSU's BCS title.
What was hilarious is when USC won the '04 title, no mention was ever made of their """""""""""""AP"""""""""""""" national tile, just their """"""""""""BCS"""""""""""title.

Oh usc will be there, count on it! The powers that be have been chomping at the bit to get usc back to the NC game. And they would love nothing more than to put them up against the SEC. usc has a cake walk schedule, LSU has the regular SEC gauntlet & SEC CG to get through, so anything could happen there. LSU/usc would be an interesting matchup & a chance to finally shut up the left coasters!

SC is going to be very good this season.
That's not unusual though, as SC has been very good for the better part of the last decade.

What could make it a NC year for the Trojans:

Defensively, the squad should be solid
with several starters returning on a unit
that improved steadily as they gained
experience last season. There are
questions about a lack of depth on the DL.

Offensively, the passing game will be
electric. The O-line shows great promise,
if not great depth, and the Trojans are
filthy rich at WR (Lee, Woods, Farmer) and TE.
RB is fine as long as Moody McNeil stays healthy,
along with Soma Vainuku, who some think
could be another Stanley Havili at FB.

Then there's Matt Barkley, who is a game
changer at QB. Nuff said. Watch him work.

Special teams features a solid PK in
Andre Heidari, and a good P in Kyle
Negrete (backed up by Lake Charles native
Kris Albarado.)

What could ruin it all:

A poor performance in one or more
of the following games:

9/1 Hawaii
9/8 Syracuse @ Met Life Stadium, NJ
9/15 @Stanford
9/22 Cal
10/4 @Utah
10/13 @Washington
10/20 Colorado
10/27 @Arizona
11/3 Oregon
11/10 Arizona St.
11/17 @ucla
11/24 ND
11/30 PAC XII Championship

60% chance USC makes it (I think we lose 2; hope I'm wrong) 80% chance LSU makes it (must beat Bama, and in convincing fashion.)

Have you seen USC's schedule? It is slightly tougher than Bama's 2011 schedule, which isn't saying much at all.

I haven't seen the schedule. I was just thinking about who they play every year.

And like the other poster said, let's say they get to the PAC-12 CG, they would more than likely be facing Oregon..... again.

Damn, y'all really only have 4 home games??

Really? That four game road stretch in October has to be a misprint.

Good catch. The 10/20 Colorado game is at home. I'll fix it, along with the 11/24 ND game, also
at the Coliseum.

I was about to say.

I don't care who your QB is, that many road games would be brutal.

Exactly...

For the Natty, it will be LSU-Bama winner vs USC-Oregon winner unless USC or UO gets a split in their 2 games and there is a major AQ unbeaten left available to rank, like a Clemson, Okie, Wisky ect... I just do not see LSU losing to anybody but possibly Bama next year. And same for USC. Utah will give them some fits, but USC should clearly be very highly favored for their games except against UO. But for all we know at this point of the season, it could all very well turn out as Oregon vs Bama in the Natty. If I had to put money on it this second, I would guess LSU vs someone, ya probably USC.

It all revolves around 2 facts: For USC, because they are so incredibly thin for depth, if they get key injuries during the year. If not, they are probably in, if so, they are out. For LSU, how will Mett- their new QB do. If he does decent they are in, if not, probably out.

We almost always play horribly in our PAC road opener. This season's is at Stanford. They are no joke, and will be good again this season, albeit inexperienced.

We should win, but every now and then CF teams that really should win lay an egg.
