He's a damn solid player, but our defense is better than USCe's and he won't torch us like he does some of the ACC teams.

That being said, he needs our fastest cover guy on him for sure. The dude has serious wheels.

Yea Sammy has really struggled against USC. Part of it has been on him (he dropped a sure TD last year), but part of it has also been on play design.

I know everyone is going to make it sound like USC's dominant SEC defense just shattered everything Clemson was doing, but I also think Chad Morris has taken two massive Indian-curry dumps on his playsheet the past two games against USC.

This year after the first half, Andre Ellington and Roderick McDowell had 96 yards on 14 carries for just under 7 yards per carry. Clemson is leading and all seems right in the world.

Then, after moving the ball on the ground against USC, Morris gives Ellington and McDowell a COMBINED 4 more carries for the rest of the game. WTF?!?! He inexplicably goes away from what's been working and starts going almost exclusively to 5-7 step drops and letting the USC DL wreak havoc on Boyd.

Also, USC's DBs were 7-8 yards off the ball most times and we didn't see one WR screen. That's one of Clemson's go-to plays, where the fvck was it in this game? And when USC's DL started stunting and twisting, where was the jet sweep we see so much with Sammy to keep them honest?

Idk WTF Morris was doing in that game. It was the worst I've ever seen him call. The two years before USC was simply a significantly better football team than Clemson, no doubting that. This year it was closer, and Morris just shat the bed.

If he's going to top LSU he needs to take what the defense is giving him and be patient. Too often he tries to force the big play when it's not there. If the DBs are back, take the 5 yard quick bubble. If the safeties are back, take the 4 yard handoff. Quit playing into a dominant DL's hands by sending everyone deep and having Boyd sit in the pocket shitting his pants for 5-7 steps each play.
