I'm thinking an assist, a rebound and 2 points.

He can't get both an assist and a rebound on the same pass/shot. If it was a pass, then he gets an assist. But if they rule it a shot, then no assist, but he would get the rebound.

I'm thinking that was tongue in cheek. Could be wrong.

Yes, it was.

As I typed that comment I thought to myself that some poster was going to revel in pointing out that an assist and rebound can't be credited on the same play.

But what the hell, Simmons is just THAT good he can force the official scorer to change the scoring rules...

Just think what could be, Mickey, Martin, Horsby, Gray, and SIMMONS!

JJ's biggest challenge if that happens is convincing the refs to let LSU play with more than one basketball when we have the ball.

Indeed. Simmons is a good passer and a good kid who will likely defer more than he should. Cause those other four like to shoot.

But you are right, up to CJJ to manage that. Slimey Cal manages it well most years, but I'm not sure over the course of 2+ years that Johnny quite has forceful personality and certainly not the track record of success to command quite the respect to manage it quite as well...maybe it will come in time.

Well said.

I'm sure pulling for him. We need some stability in the basketball program. I'd love to see a success story for a former Tiger player.

This LSU Russian. I like Johnny. Everybody likes Johnny. That's why he got the job.

But it still seems at times he has trouble getting his kids to do the things he asks. As the talent continues to improve, and it is set up well to do just that, he'll have to get a handle on that.

I can't argue with that.
