there are people, using that term loosely as this is a bunch of ignorant SJWs on the Big Cat Rescue facebook page that are stating that LSU has stated that there will not be a Mike VII...

I've been calling them out on their ignorance of Mike's situation...

what does the Rant know on the situation?

Who would make that call for LSU?

With all of the money spent on the current tiger habitat, much of which was raised through donations, and the tradition behind the live mascot I don't see us not having a live tiger on campus for some time to come.

that would be a HUGE mistake. any administrator, I mean ANY admistrator at LSU that would say this would be run out of town. rumors are exciting but reality is often different.

MIKE is a part of LSU and no alum is going to forgive not replacing him.

If this were true (which I'm 98% it isn't), I can promise you one thing, my gifts to the university would cease.

LSU had a press statement that basically said we are focusing on Mike VI and we should not be talking about a replacement. It is not time for that.

They are not worried about a replacement right now
If no more live mascots, they could easily find a use for that space, they could even build around it.
It's been a nice run and I could care less about PETA but maybe resources could be spent somewhere else. I know the tiger draws a lot of visitors but in this day and age, everything is scrutinized too much.

This is the worst of all scenarios for F. King:
If Mike doesn't survive cancer, he will be forced to (pause for drama) MAKE A DECISION involving the expenditure of money!
How will he explain spending all this money on a tiger to those morons in the legislature?
At least Les Miles didn't die last fall, so his Ostrich/ Do- nothing strategy worked fine. with off season changes and recruiting, his inaction even looks respectable.
It's only a matter of time for F. King...
He's praying harder for Mike than anyone.

Call out Big Cat Rescue and ask them how many other cats would be able to have state of the art SRT for cancer? Otherwise Mike would have been left at some other institute and not have had the best care.

I've called them out twice already...simply called them ignorant of the situation, what they can't dispute is that Mike gets much better care than their cats...

"LSU" won't be buying a tiger.

LSU Athletic Department or TAF will front the funds to obtain a new tiger when Mike VI passes away.

FYI, Mike VI was a rescue. The only cost involved was a donation to the rescue facility and transporting him back to BR.

I anticipate that Mike VII will be some sort of rescue cat as well...it's a shame that Tony at the truck stop is as old as he is, he'd make a perfect Mike...
