I think Brian Wilson is a classic example of a guy who receives some attention and decides he likes it and is willing to do whatever it takes to garner more.

He had a pretty low profile here. I just remember him being a run of the mill pitcher. "Who's pitching tonight? Oh, Brian Wilson." He'd have been a lot more on my radar if he was as batshit as he is nowadays. His reaction after that last out when SF won the series was legendary.

Out of curiosity, where did he live during his days at LSU?

Yeah, he won 10 games as part of the weekend rotation one year, but he was never the kind of pitcher you figured would even make the majors, much less blow up the way he has.

if i remember right he was throwing in the mid 90s. but he got hurt his last yr so he did not have the kind of impact he would have. and then i think due to injury wasnt drafted that high.

Read a recent article about Wilson in MLB and he said he didn't want to be just known as another pitcher but wanted to give fans something else to know him by.

Read a recent article about Wilson in MLB

I read this from Charlie Sheen in a recent SI article on Major League the movie:

Sheen: I'm in. F---, yeah. Why not? I think enough time has gone by. Let me tell you a story. We had this party at my place a few months ago to watch Major League. It was awesome. The beard was there—Brian Wilson, from the Giants. We had Eddie Murray and Kenny Lofton. And I got David Ward to introduce the film. Colin Farrell showed up. And when my big strikeout at the end comes on, the place goes nuts like we've never even seen the movie before. I'm in between my two girlfriends, and I look over and there's Colin Farrell giving me a thumbs-up. I reach behind me for a fist bump from Brian Wilson, who goes, "Winning!" I'm telling you, David Ward created a baseball classic, and baseball is all that matters in the world. You know, I always wonder what I'm going to be in the middle of when I die. And I just hope it's not in the middle of the greatest f------ pennant race ever.

That dude is extremely intelligent. He is just one of those guys that is always f'ing with people. You don't know if he is shitting with you or serious.
We all know people that can screw with someone's mind given an opening.
