Yes, I remember watching it on TV and a whole slew of people were in the stands. Many thousands!
Thanks for the bump.

....I was there. i was sitting on the 10 yard line with a direct view of where catch came in right next to the band.

The scene was very chaotic. After the Wildcats took the lead, the stadium was in a frenzie. A large group of about 8,000 students were amassing in one endzone. A lower number around 5,000 were in the endzone where td was scored.

To be honest, I was reaDy to leave but, I couldn't because the portals were jammed full of people that wouldn't get out the way.

I was very concerned about the safety our players.

When the pass went up, I was temporarily distracted by the celebratory fireworks that went off at the top of the stadium. When I looked down,I could see Devery breaking through a hallway in the defense. I knew he had a shot. The catch in person was not as spectacular as in person.

Devery bobbled the ball and hauled it in. When he did, I looked all around the field for yellow flags to make sure we wouldn't have the miracle taken away like Kithchens las second td was in Vandy.

What made the situation so weird is that the stadium was not reacting correctly.

The LSU fans in that endzone knew and the Willdcat fans in that endzone knew. But, the rest of the stadium was cheering as if Kentucky won. It took about 5 minutes before everyone knew what happened.

I turned to hug someone and couldn't find anyone. Everyone in my party had run downstairs. I turned around and found a well endowed beautiful woman dressed in tiger stripes. We hugged like we knew each other for ever.

I was there. Sitting the LSU section in the upper deck. Kentucky kicks the field goal to go ahead. Commonwealth Stadium erupts. Things look bleak. LSU receives the kickoff and manages a mediocre return. Things look even bleaker. The Kentucky crowd is swarming and buzzing, sensing a historic moment for their program. Randall goes over the middle to Clayton for a modest gain. LSU takes its final timeout. The bleakest moment yet. The result appears to be a foregone conclusion. Kentucky students pour over the parapets and ring the field. The stadium resounds with insistent electronic Wildcat growls broadcast over the PA system, one after another after another. LSU trots out for the final play. The stands are rattling and vibrating as the Kentucky fans stomp the bleachers in ecstasy. A Paunchy Smurf sitting near me bellows some incomprehensible taunt-cum-warcry-cum-celebratory honk, his blue-clad manboobs all abounce. I put my head down as Randall rolls. My wife shrieks. I bolt upright to see the ball sailing through the air ... hanging ... (somewhere a cannonade echoes) ... descending ... well short of the endzone ... it's over ... F*CK ME ... then it's not ... WAIT ... as the ball ricochets ... NO WAY ... once ... NO F*CKING WAY ... twice ... NO MOTHERF*CKING WAY... Devery is in the clear ... I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT I AM SEEING ... touchdown LSU. MY GOD MY GOD MY GOD MY GOD. My wife bursts into spontaneous tears of joy. I am suddenly on the ground, in the midst of a huge impromptu dogpile that was instantaneously teleported on top of me. I break free. Then I am hugging and kissing people I do not know and have never met. We are all one. Social boundaries are gone. Sheer jubilation. Silence has descended on the stricken Kentucky crowd. Paunchy Smurf throws his hat and doubles over as if to vomit. The field is chaos. The entire LSU team is a gold and white smear in one corner of the endzone. LSU students have been loosed upon the gridiron, running mindlessly in circles. My wife and I hold each and jump and jump and jump for joy.

Greatest reversal of fortune you can possibly imagine.

Goosebumps.

yep time flies.
The pic with Saban was a lot of fun. I saw him with his security walking towards the corridor and decided to run ahead and setup a spot ash they passed by and have my friend run a little further ahead and take the pic as they passed. lol

<-- Was there. Ticket is framed and hanging on the wall. Sec 114, row 50. I remeber the drive up there being kind of hard because we had taken the same route, through Knoxville, as we did for the Va Tech game a few weeks earlier that season. It brought back a lot of bad memories. But ever since then, driving up 59 and 24 has been a lot of fun, especially last year.
