Can someone break this formation/play down completely? Was this Miles' attempt at implementing a wildcat/read option play? It was basically a designed QB run if I recall correctly, which is really missing the whole point of the wildcat, right? I was just thinking about this lame play that Miles concocted and appeared happy to implement and I came to the conclusion that its a huge joke like the rest of our offense. Is there anyone with more X's and O's know how that can confirm if my assumptions are true, and if they are not, explain its intended purpose? Is this a snapshot into the offensive ineptitude that has been going on in BR since Miles took over?

That was our idea of creativity and imagination. Les installed that package to please the rant.

Well I guess you are basically an idiot then and don't really remember correctly. Several times there were other plays run out of the Warecat, most notably when he handed the ball to Ford out of this formation including one that went for a huge play against A&M.

Is this post a snapshot of your inept knowledge of football and ability to post a good thread?

the formation a lot of fans refer to as the Warecat was the short yardage QB sneak we used to run with Jordan. we were pretty successful with JJ, and I'm assuming they wanted to keep it for the same purposes but Ware ran it best. the little pitch to Ford was a nice addition.

I didn't have a problem with the formation so much as when and how it was used.

I wouldn't call Ware lining up under center a version of the wildcat although we tried to. There was that one play against A&M where he pitched it and it worked. Not sure if we saw it again though. Hopefully if we want to add that wrinkle we can get him in the shotgun and have a motion man cut in front as a read option like other teams use to run the wildcat.

there was a formation that was closer to a "wildcat" where Ware was in the shotgun, and Mett was split out wide. I think we used it 2 plays vs. UF, and then never again. on 1 play Ware actually pump faked a pass to Mett before running.
