I know all you men hate talking about next season while we are still in the season, but we have to be happy knowing that Walker and Hess will be our friday/saturday starters next year. These guys will be a good 1-2 punch.

Disregarding incoming freshmen, who (out of who is on the team right now) would you guys pencil in as the sunday starter for conversation sake?

And if you dont like this thread, find the door.

Also, if anyone wants to comment on who our freshmen pitchers might be next year, feel free to add.

I think Beck will get a chance as a 3rd starter

Anyone know offhand if either of them will be draft eligible sophomores?

What kind of freshman arms do we have coming in? We really need one to grab a weekend slot like walker did

Hess will be next year. Hopefully next year will be our last year with him, would mean he would be dominant for us next season.

Also are we sure Hess will be a starter next year? He seems much more comfortable out of the pen

Hopefully. Most thought we had that coming back this year with Lange and Poche.

No doubt! And it looked pretty good when Poche was bumping 30 scoreless innings........biut life in the SEC squashes that. We need 4 legitimate starters. Walker and Hess have the moxie.......Peterson? don't think Beck has it in him either, sorry.

So let's pray a true frosh steps up, or maybe Frederick rehabs and gets his speed back. Kid was a legit mid 90s in HS before his injury

I've followed and been involved in catholic league sports for the entirety of my life. Blair Frederick was never mid 90s at Brother Martin. He was never mid 90s at LSU. Ergo the kid has never thrown mid 90s. Did you just pull that out of your arse or did you get him mixed up with Nick Bush (I know nothing about his high school stats) or another freshman? Possibly Hunter Kiel. But most definitely not Blair Frederick

Walker obviously for sure a starter.
Hess-starter or in a closer role

I wouldn't be surprised if Gilbert emerges and became a weekend starter. Lsu has a few really good arms coming in but no idea with the draft

I jumped on the Hess train last night after his stellar relief effort. There's no reason he shouldn't start, particularly in light of Poche's ailing arm

I feel split between Beck and Gilbert. According to a chat I had last night during the second game with a couple of players' parents, some studs are coming in next year.

Obviously either/or of Storz & Enlow will become immediate starters if they make it to campus. Just getting one of them respectively would be phenomenal for the rotation moving forward...

Think Walker & Hess could be 2 great starters...but, depending on the incoming pitchers for next year and who develops into a starter during the fall, Hess may become the closer...

Was is everyone hating on Peterson?

Up until yesterday he threw 11 (I believe it was) scoreless innings

Peterson will be fine, yesterday was the first time in a while his curve had nasty life on it.
