Wade’s team finished 9-9 in SEC play & in a 5 way tie for 5th place after 2 top 10 classes

I know the rant misses Will Wade, but people need to get over it. Any non-national championship winning coach would have gotten fired for what Wade was busted doing. Everybody cheats but he was sloppy and downright stupid with the way he did it.
It’s time to stop acting like he was some genius coach. Sure he got LSU back to being relevant, but he had his share of terrible losses to go a long with great wins.
Before you start replying with the monster recruiting class he had coming in, remember that our classes in 2020 & 2021 were ranked #4 & #8. In 2020-21 we finished 4 games back of 1st in the SEC. 2021-22 we finished 6 games back.
This year’s team has major issues, but bitching & moaning about Will Wade is just silly.

It has nothing to do with being spineless. Woodward had a business decision to make and he made it. Both football and basketball likely get sanctioned if he kept Wade. Wade was the cause of this. Not Woodward.

He also had a top 5 recruiting class coming in this year. Don’t forget that part…
He so had us in the tournament 4 straight years…don’t forget that part.
He won an SEC title and played for the SEC Tournament title game did the first time since 1993…don’t forget that part.
He won more conference games than any other SEC program over a 4 year span…don’t forget that part.

But don't you understand that THIS SEASON...the season that was never gonna be...WAS gonna be THE year LSU dominated EVERYONE in college BBall. Had WW stuck around and been fired this year instead of last, the above would've just happened next year.

A famous rant narrative, but Pearl and Callipari were both better over Wades tenure at LSU. Muscleman and Oats haven't been at the schools long enough for comparison.

Finished 2nd and 3rd the 2 seasons after we won the SEC so what you’re saying is incorrect. You’re also including a lot of players who left to claim he had back to back seasons with the roster intact which is also false. Wade finished higher than predicted every year he was at LSU so your entire narrative is also false.

That team was a 6 seed. LSU’s been a 6 seed or better only 11 times in 43 years of the NCAA tournament being seeded since 1979.
With 4 NCAA tournament appearances in a row after only 2 in 11 seasons before Will Wade was hired he raised the expectations through the roof.
Knock him all you want for dumb rule breaking but it’s stupid to bag on a coach for results that elevated a program that’s been terrible since the mid-90s.

Champion: 16-2

3, 4 & 5 games back of the SEC champion in the seasons following the sec championship season. That’s not close to winning the SEC.

Most of the WW haters are older fans from the dale days. They tuned out the JJ years and how low the program sank. Wade did so much more thank just his on the court accolades, mainly being reengaging the fan base and reigniting program energy.

You know Will Wade was building something at LSU when people use a 6 seed season to attack him with.
People really act like going to the tournament every season at LSU isn’t a massive accomplishment. You have to create a consistent winner before you can worry about making deep runs it takes time to build that at a place like LSU
Who knows how long it will take to get back to those kind of expectations
