We had the #1 NBA pick on our team last year, with some good pieces around him and failed miserably to even make the tournament. Should have been an indication to get rid of Jones last year, and now this. Man I'm truly sad for the state of the basketball program, I have always been a huge supporter of it, and I can barely get myself to watch a full game this year, I've pretty much moved on and don't watch anymore and it makes me sad because I love college basketball and this makes me so uninterested in the entire game this year.

Come on LSU make the choice NOW and save face of this program and let Johnny Jones Go!!!!!!!!! Make LSU Basketball Great Again

Y'all are all right. I love Tiger b-ball, and last night was the first game I stopped watching at half time. I never bash them but I think now is time. No defense and poor coaching. Not one kid plays for his team.

Ummm no... Think about it, what is the point in watching that team play? I feel bad for players that are hustling despite having to play on Jones coached team. Its really shocking that the penny has hit rock bottom and seemingly not a damn thing has been done about it.

Actually its been pretty easy to. I've stopped even noticing when the games are, much less watching them.

In the first half I watched Reath make a free throw and not one player slapped his hands and he extende them. I knew right there it was over

Even the SEC Network guys at the end of the game were openly speaking about it being time. Pretty unusual.

Wow! Really? The announcers were talking about Jones needing to be fired? That's pretty amazing if true. I could see the commentators back at the studio do that since they are a little more unleashed and paid to rant and stir up crap but if the actual guys announcing/commentating on the game live were saying such things I'd say that is pretty telling about how bad things are, but also pretty unprofessional frankly.

But regardless it has been clear for nearly a year now that Jones is not going to get it done at LSU and should have been fired at the end of last season, if anybody gave a damn. But it is also evident that LSU really doesn't care about basketball because I can't believe ANYONE could see Jones turning things around this year. Waiting another year only makes things worse...the season is wasted, very similar situation to Football except they really do care about FB, just didn't have the smarts to do what needed to be done when it was clear what needed to be done. This time we are in this situation because of what appears to be apathy. Can't figure it out.

The look on the faces guys on SEC NOW after the game we're priceless. You could tell as X College basketball players who had success that they were both biting their tongues. There must be an unwritten rule for these commentators to NEVER criticize a coach. But you could just tell they wanted to just scream, "Coach Jones is doing a HORRIBLE job.

I've reserved comment until now, but I stopped watching after the Mississippi State game. The effort simply wasn't there. A loss of that magnitude at home was inexcusable. Who's fault I don't know and don't want to assign blame, but the lack of intensity in the second half was obvious. And then a blowout by a decent Texas A&M team. An interesting item is that we started getting hammered consistently when we lost Victor.

Something is rotten in denmark and it aint the cheese.

No we are in this Situation because Alleva hired a guy that spent 12 years at North Texas and was never going to sniff a job at a power 5 school. Jones should have never been hired.

Let's just hope we aren't saying this about the football hire. Because again Alleva just hired a career assistant that wasn't going to get a head coach job at another power 5 school.

Agreed that Jones was definitely not an advisable hire to begin with, but since he has proven that he is not fit for the job it seems that nothing has been done due to apathy or something like that. In other words it must not matter to the Admins or else he would have been fired already.

uhhh...I think he is, but he is not the only problem. He is certainly the reason the team is awful, but the reason he is here clearly Aleva's fault.

I don' t believe in firing coaches mid season but it is TIME! I have been called a CJJ apologist on this board but all I ever said in pre SEC was give him a chance and wait until the end of the season. Well he has had his chance and then some. It is not just won /lost it is the humiliating way the team has played. Embarrassment on top of embarrassment!! Even Trent's worst teams were more competitive. Hell Johnny's first team with walk on's and short players was more competitive. In fact that was probably his most impressive season. It has all been downhill since then.
