Verne and Gary

Watching the Iron Bowl. Thought I disliked them just because I watched their games with LSU glasses on. Watching them call a game where LSU is not a participant doesn't change my opinion of them as a commentating pair. Observations: when Bama does something good, Verne announces it with s ton of energy. When something goes against them, he announces it with low energy. His style reminds me of the home court announcers at NBA games. Gary talks about the players he likes like he is on a first name basis with them. Bottom line is they are both unprofessional in their own ways. Glad Verne is retiring..,,hoping Gary goes with him. It's hard to believe this is the best crew CBS can muster.

I do notice when Alabama is about to do something good Vern will preface his statement by saying "oh yes!" If Auburn does something good or Alabama does something bad he starts off by saying "oh no."

Dude, it's long been known they are front runners. Did you ever how the dropped to their knees for Tebow? Now it's Saban and Bama. It will change. It would have been nice if we were in that role, but it's great to have the old, fat, senile has-been retire before we rise up.

mikeco, you are SO RIGHT ON !!!! these are the two most prejudiced announcers in all football...they are both pro-Bama/pro-Gators...when Bama and Florida play each other they're beside them self with which way to pull...good post
