Piss looks good but doesn't have a deep resume. Lotta fluff.

LSU got beat bad twice but as a young team and by two of the best teams in the nation.

Hard game to call.

Are you serious? We may perform poorly against Ole Miss, we may win. I dont know, but if you cant see an improvement in this team, especially on the lines, you are not wanting to.

a not very good UK team.

bullshite. They were high or mid-high on most stats in the SEC before last week.

But you "fans" can always turn lemonade into lemons.

76% of money is on Ole Miss just like Vegas expected. Clearly they think LSU has a great chance of winning this game. Or maybe they don't know what they are doing and need to consult with debbie downer negas that know we have no shot.

Yes. I agree that we are seeing improvement and I hope it continues. But as I stated the improvement has come against a bad Gator team and an over rated UK team.

COtiger,

next week are you going to say, "well this team on paper has improved against some mediocre teams, we will see what happens when bama comes to tow"??

the beauty of sports is that so much is mental. this defense is gaining confidence. the offensive line is as well.

i am not saying LSU is a definite win at all, but the process is fun to watch.

Based on what I know right now, I say we are more capable of beating Bama than Ole Miss. I went to LSU in the mid '60s so I've been following Tiger football for a couple of years. I bleed Purple & Gold. But I try to be a realist. If we beat the Rebs Saturday night then color me convinced and I'll have some crow gumbo Sunday night.

No, you'll say OM was overrated and had only played a couple of good teams.

First, from an old retired USAF E-8, thanks for your service.

Second, I won't say the Rebs are over rated. I hate 'em with a passion, but I'm also enough of a realist to admit they are a damn good team this year.

Thank you to you as well.

I think they are good all around and very good in certain areas.

Should be a hell of a game Saturday night. I'm pumped already.

I told my better half she might want to spend Saturday night with the grandkids.

Vegas Showing some love to LSU??

These threads are fricking hilarious. Some of you people act like Vegas oddsmakers have the same job as ESPN talking heads. Vegas doesn't give 2 flying fricks about "showing love to LSU"

You do know that Vegas knows more about football than you, right?

Usually over the years and Im talking about since the early seventies when LSU began to take more control of this rivalry and Yes sir Im an older Tiger fan and still consider this game a rivalry but the point is , normally we have always been the hunted and Ole MIss the Hunter. This year role reversal, we are the underdogs and should be sky high for this game as opposed to it normally being the other way around. We could absolutely dash the Rebs hopes of any chance at a National Championship with a win against them this Saturday night. Traditionally, excluding the Johnny Vaught era , the Johnny REb Black Bears do not handle the favored role too well. I think it will be a Helluva game, just like Vegas does. Crowd going to the game definitely needs to be wired and give the Rebel Faithful all the Hell they can handle.

Vegas makes money because they in essence don't gamble. They do not rely on the public backing the loser. They make the line as appealing as possible from both sides and collect the juice.

While this is true, they also will pick sides in certain situations.. I would think a handful of games a week

They have trouble putting points on the board

If you listen to Freeze or have watched any of the Ole Miss games, they have been very conservative. Their defense is one of the best in the country. Bama had one really good drive and got a free td on missed facemask call. The Ole Miss d is legit. They have only given up 6 td's all year and 3 of those were when the game was well in hand. Tam scored 2 late td's after it was 35-7 and one score was the last play of the game. Ole Miss has very good players on offense. They are not a run it down your throat team. The short pass for 5 yards is a running play for them. They really haven't done a lot of tempo yet, but wouldn't be surprised if they go to it early Saturday depending on field position.

OleMiss not as great as advertised + LSU not as bad as advertised + TigerStadium = near toss-up game

No offense to OleMiss, they are a damn good team this year and may very well beat LSU, but they're not your typical 3rd-ranked team. And while some LSU fans might think we're one of the worst teams in football this year, LSU is easily one of the best 15-20 teams in the country....still working out some major kinks (mostly just youth at some key spots and a defense finding itself), but still very capable and not a team to be taken lightly.

As every expert in America predicted before the season started ..."get your licks on LSU in early because come November LSU is not going to be a team you want to face as all this talent has some experience under its belt."

Nice to see a solid, realistic post on the Rant for a change.
