This would be a great hire if I'd actually possible. Even though some posters seem to hope Alleva makes a bad decision so they can be right about him, I think Wade would fit in nicely

Bad hire if it goes down. VCU is a good program and they've been a good program since I can remember in the 90s. That program makes coaches look good and they are in a great region for basketball. LSU needs to open up the check book and bring in someone who is proven in a major conference.

Wade came in and took a struggling UT-Chattanooga team in the same conference as Davidson to the big dance by winning the regular season and conference tourney championships, so it's not like he has only ridden VCU's coattails

I think VCU basketball is like UH football. It can be a false positive on coaches because the program is actually better than perceived and has good resources. Wade might be a great hire but don't do it because he has fielded 2 'very good' teams at VCU.

In an area of the country where basketball is king and recruiting is tough, he has put together good programs with good results. Granted the conference play is not the toughest, but he continues to win! SEC play, other than a couple schools, really isn't that tough!
