Why can't they play the loser's bracket game at the Southern campus while they play the winners bracket game at the same time at Alex Box?

At the very least, keep this option available should a schedule fall behind as far as it has this year.

Southern's season has been done for over two weeks and their field is no where near capable of being played on.

If they were to make it a contingency for the future, keeping the field game ready and the facilities conditioned to accommodate fans would not be too much of an issue.....i wouldn't think

eta: Umps would probably be an issue. moving on

at the Southern campus
To add to what the other poster correctly wrote about Southern's stadium not being of the necessary quality to host a regional game, it is also one of the worst draining fields in the country. They have had to postpone multiple regular season games because it rained one or two days before they had a scheduled game.

Plus, since Southern's season ended about 10 days ago, I doubt they have even covered their infield since then. It's probably a muddy mess today.

Yes, besides what is listed above, Southern's field does not drain nearly as well.

We are just talking about one game. If they didn't want to mess up the field at Alex Box, they could still have gotten the game finished last night.

They'd be better off just doing it at Uhigh. I like the creativity in the idea though.

Perhaps regional host should all be required to have a substitute site available should there be a need. They could set rules for how far away, etc. etc. We should be able to come up with something better than the current system.

Use SLU park. It's only 40 minutes away. Nice park and facilities.
Strange thing is it didn't rain nearly as much over this way as it did in BTR.

Id dislike giving Southeastern that home field advantage. Go play at one of the new orleans parks instead.

would be easier to just walk over to the UHigh fields but this idea is pretty ludicrous

Or Tulane. At least they were smart enough to use turf. Lsu needs to consider this change

My nephew was playing in the Texas high school playoffs this weekend. They originally had a three-game series scheduled at SFA in Nacogdoches. Rain forced them to drive 1 hr 30 mins to Madisonville to play games 1 and 2. Then it rained Saturday in both Madisonville and Nacogdoches, so they drove 2 hrs from Madisonville to play game 3 on Dallas Baptist's field. So the OP's idea can be done if really needed.
