Penrod, would it be easier for a RB to get by a 1 on 1 block or a 7 on 9 block? You not too bright huh?

Well let's see!

52 carries for only 219 yds but 4 TDs!!!!!

How did that loading the box work out for ULM?

I'm so sick of this "spread them out" shite
We don't recruit for the spread
We don't run the spread

Let Cam work the offense. We're gonna be a heavy Pro-Style team including the spread Elements he's incorporating. We aren't going to just run 4 wide sets the whole fricking game because these high school coaches in here thinks it's the "best offense ever"

Fingers faster than the brain!

7 blocking 9 is total BS, is there not 11 on each side of the ball?

I maybe a dumb Cajun but on running play shouldn't everyone be blocking execpt the man with the ball?

When was the last time that a QB blocked for a run up the middle? So you have a running back and quarterback not blocking. So yes it is 7 blocking 9 if you have 2 wrs.

For those of you who think you can't run power out of a spread formation, I give you Auburn.

We don't run the spread

I just want to see 3 WR sets with the option to pass or run out of them

LSU has done it THIS SEASON with great success.... then they stopped

Tiger WRs have been known to throw a block against Moo-st!

Point is ULM loaded the box & the Tigers scored 4 TDs rushing!

So where's the slow down?

Ok I get it we didn't score 4 TDs per quarter!

First of all, LSU absolutely does not run any pro sets. Most say that they run a pro style since they aren't trying to go with the fad flashy college offenses (I guess) but I haven't seen them line up in a pro set in years. Sure it might happen a few times a game but that aint shite.

Second, the I-formation is Les' favorite form and I it is also my favorite because I personally believe that it is the best formation for utilizing the strengths of a team.

For instance, if you have one road grader TE and one R Dickson TE on your offense then you can definitely line up with only one rec and 2 TEs and be extremely effective passing the ball. By varying the number of TEs and WR, the Tigers can seek out mismatches in personnel and still have many options from the same formation for audibles, etc.

The Tigers use other formations but this seems to be CLM's thing and it is a damned good formation that is extremely flexible. It is a major reason why the Tigers have always worn opponent's down and have dominated the 4th qtrs for a decade now.

This is nonsense. If it was true, no coach would ever line up with two tight ends and a fullback.
It was TE and FB play that opened up the next level on the long runs vs ULM.
When you break through DBs crowding LOS, nice things that come in 6 happen.
The Rant should recall this from 2011.

Look I love the Tigers, but what would you call this.

A team less equipped to excel at passing opens up fewer rushing lanes. Thats what it is. As the passing game improves, the YPC will go up. Not really a mystery or big deal and nothing you can do about it.
