If LSU doesn't beat these guys, it will be disgraceful. The fact that their run defense is so poor should guarantee that our offense controls the ball for 35 minutes and scores at least 30 points on them.

That's fine. We'll score 40.

Ya but LSU defense is capable of giving up 74 points in a game.

Every defense in the country is capable of giving up 74 points in a game, using your logic.

I highly doubt it, even with some of our key players on defense out. If LSU controls the ball for 35 minutes like it should, that means a well-rested Tiger defense and fewer possessions for UCF.

This is why, if LSU really comes to play, the Tigers should win handily. If a defense can't stop the run (like UCF's), there's not much they can do to stop an opposing offense. If LSU loses, it will be because they played at half-speed and beat themselves.

I would be more concerned about LSU defense than offense.

I posted this in another thread, but it t seems better placed here:

5 of our 12 wins came against teams that are currently in the top 20 for rush yards/game, and 7 are in the top 50. By no means are we great at stopping the run, but that stat does skew our stats in rush defense a little.

How’s LSU against the run? Our run game is pretty good, specifically our back Greg McRae... he played very little to start the season, but just eclipsed 1,000 yards. I think he’s averaging 8-9 yards/carry.

So what about the stats for defense of those teams vs LSU rush, pass and total defense?

If we played UCFs instead of Bamas/UGAs/States for 12 games ide imagine our offense would rank considerably higher.

If nothing else, his performance vs. A&M has earned him some carries. He's the only guy of the 3 who has shown a good burst. He should get at least 10 carries in the game.
