That is exactly what I said. Brandon Harris is not an SEC caliber QB at this time.

Ok, I'm laughing at this shite. WTF is an "SEC caliber QB"? Before 2012, there was maybe 3 "SEC caliber" QBs a year. These guys aren't bad at all. Lee and Jefferson could have been better had they actually had a QB coach and OC who played to their stengths. Lee AND Jefferson, were both listed as pro style QBs coming out of high school. Lee's pick 6-palooza scared Miles to death. That in turn made him decide to not pass the ball, and turn Jefferson into a zone running QB. He completely ruined two QBs by not having a QB coach and an OC that game plans to their strengths. Jefferson shouldn't have seen the field till Lee went to the NFL, but When you have Crowton, shite doesn't seem to work out.

The SEC caliber QB crap is ridiculous, but for the sake of this post, Harris is an SEC caliber QB. He was the #3 ranked dual threat in the country. He's 6'2.5, runs a 4.5 something with a laser arm. This guy was compared to Baylor RG3 coming out. Harris would be starting in a spread system by now. Sure he'll have problems because he is a freshman, but getting experience is a wonderful thing.

ETA: not redshirt, but freshman

When has an LSU offense ever adapted to their opponent?

Alabama 2012. Alabama is a special opponent for us. They're nearly the only team that we come out looking inspired against. They're the only team that we think we need to make some adjustments on offense for. They're the the only team for a lot of things for us. We see the Bama game as making or breaking our season, but don't realize that losing to MSU at home can break it a whole lot sooner.

If we went to an NFL style offense under Cameron, a lot more shotgun and play action, Harris throwing it 35-40 times a game...it would be a damn good offense.

Miles wont allow it though.

It's not what Schembechler would have done.

from the offense ive seen in the last 4 games...we havent ran any plays that were ran last year...this is a totally different office to me...its either run the ball or deep passes...what happen to all the underneath routes and crossing routes...the closest i saw to us running the office we ran last year was the second half of the Wisky game

You knew I made a mistake, but that's the only thing you could find to argue with.

"UAB threw for 450 yards against State"

And even with our issues, we threw for 341. My guess is that this is what is going to cost State some games as they face teams intent upon throwing the ball.

As for our Tigers, the most talented position group I see on either side of the ball is at WR. Given the absence of dominant OL play, I hope to see us shift to playing Harris (the clearly better thrower) and go to something much closer to a 50/50 run/pass ratio. I suspect that the OL will look better with this less demanding (of them) approach and it will give us more chances to get the ball to Dural, Diarse, Quinn, and Dupre. I believe this would be playing to our strength. Expect growing pains, though!
