I was always taught to swing the bat. You hit zero pitches when you don't swing.

Pearson’s job was to walk

That's just a moronic statement. Walking is entirely dependent on the pitcher throwing balls. A pitchers job is to strike out batters. You think standing there regardless of ball/strike and HOPING for 4 balls is a good college level strategy? fricking morons in here tonight. His job was to get on base, either by HBP, base hit, walk. Which of those three (aside from standing there and wishing) can he influence? I'll help you SWINGING THE frickING BAT

Eh, sometimes it honestly is. Of course today’s zone wasn’t D1 college sized so idk.

Im not a baseball guru by any means but I dont believe a single batter can “WATCH 7 STRAIGHT PITCHES”.

Unless my MATHS is really bad.

This game was 4-2 with 2 out and an 0-2 count on the batter in the bottom of the 8th. One bad pitch and we lose the game.
Even with 19 Ks the game was winnable.

No doubt! This team has NOT learned how to execute in crunch time whether it be from the mound, on the field, or at the plate. Goes back to experience. Hopefully with more PT these guys will flip the script.

Gotta like what we have for them today & tomorrow: Holman, Jump, Herring, Ack and Hurd (Guidry & Hellmers should be available too on Sunday). Let's get it done.

Is it possible CJJ had him take 2 pitches after going 3-0?

I never understood the rationale behind this, as you know the next pitch is coming right down the center of the plate. Swing away because you'll still have two more swings even if you miss. WTF. This protocol is a weak strategy at the least, and a losing one imo.

Nothing "clutch" about this team! Hitting or pitching!

Half of our strikeouts tonight were gifts from the clown behind the plate. Credit AK pitchers for hitting the spots…off the plate.

I agree, but halfway through the game you have to adjust and go after that ball that was low and outside to right handed hitters.

I say this team fights like a girl, and will still say that until they start to punch back properly. The team needs a leader in the worst way.

Not sure who I see being that guy right now.
