Archibald's in Northport blows Dreamland out of the water.

Golden Rule ain't half bad either.

BBQ in Alabama is pretty disappointing. Dreamland is not what it used to be.

I'd grab a new pulled pork from Wendy's and a 32oz refreshment of your choice and get to work heckling gumps.

Archibald's in Northport is the best tasting if you can find it and get in. It is literally a shack.

Dreamland is very good.

Full Moon BBQ is excellent also.

Moes on University Blvd. is a strong choice - it is beloved by fratstars the world over.

Jim N Nick's is also downtown.

Tuscaloosa has world class BBQ.

Man!!! Reading this thread and those Yelp reviews and photos, looks to be an absolute no-brainer to me that Archibalds is the place to go. I'm gonna note that place in the event I'm up that way any time soon.

One reviewer didn't care much for the sauce, referring to it as tangy and sour. I thought to myself that it sounds like a mustard based, which is my favorite, or a NC vinegar based, my second favorite. Then I came across this...
quote:

There is nothing like this sauce that I have ever had. I might be best described as a mix of mustardy sauce that you find in some places in SC, blended with some Eastern NC vinegar sauce. Unique.

Holy hell I'm sold!!! OP, no DOUBT this is where you should go.

Why is it such a crime to post about gameday food on the rant???? Second time (that I've seen) in two days there has been one that got anchored immediately. And yeah I know there's a F&D board, but this seems relevant enough to the game. It's about travelling to it after all.

Heavy-handed and ridiculous!!!
