i have no love for tulane & was at the game last night to look at ther "young" talent!
was not impressed!
they have brought in a large number of freshmen this year & in the past , they have lived won transfers- but the new rules make this hard to do because you have to sit out a year
was interested to see this young "talent"
did not see anything that jumps out
the outfielders are slow - could not play on our team as seniors, because you cannot coach speed
did not see a freshmen that would be a high draftable play in two years
best player is segedin at 3b, but his fielding for the year is poor- dropped a pop last night & fields no better than the group " we have" @ 3rd
we are really younger than them
there pitching is poor at best and then there is no young arms
have made some notes & they have about 5 freshman that will not be on their team next year & for the most part - they signed a group of "roster" players

Jones is missing the Kingston's and Schlossnagle's that were in charge of recruiting during the Tulane heyday.

Look at TCU now with Schlossnagle and not sure where Kingston ended up.

Tulane is starting about 6 freshmen in their everyday lineup. Jones has really dipped on his recruiting since 05. I think it's a mixture of Mainieri locking up the entire state of Louisiana added to the fact that he's been hit HARD in a couple of the past drafts.

Tulane is still able to somewhat recruit nationally, but the Green Wave will never in my opinion be where they were from 99-05.

Boudreaux and Middleton have impressed me however.

You sure learned a lot from one game. The only things I agree with are the lack of speed and young arms. Crohan, Canizarro, Middleton, Boudreaux etc. can all hit very well. Most of these guys will be starting for the next 3 years. And one of the best freshman(Cody Robinson) has been hurt all year.

LSU has always locked down LA and Tulane has still been good. It's nothing new.

Tulane's best players have annually been from out of state.

Katrina devasted UNO but they seem to have produced a decent team in the last few years.
