I actually listened to the Rick Jones show at 6PM and the Paul Maineri show at 7PM last night. What a difference in leadership and class by the head coaches, universities and fans.

The Rick Jones show was full of typical excuses such as injuries, tough conference, academics, etc. He even blamed his hitting woes on the pitching injuries - what a joke. The most annoying thing was that Jones and the host would never refer to LSU by name. They would only refer to the "school up the river" - totally classless and unprofessional.

The Maineri show was postive, insightful, genuine and he spoke very highly of Tulane and Jones. It very well done.

It is no wonder why the Greenies haven't been to a regional 3 of the last 4 years and won't go to one this year.

Geaux Tigers!

Yes it is. That is what makes the little brother syndrome so silly.

ok, take off your purple and gold glasses and listen. you have to remember whenever you watch/listen to anything involving a team you dislike/hate, your going to find little things that you find "class-less".

The pitching injuries are a very legitimate excuse, they only have 6 available pitchers total. Think about that for just a weekend series, then add in 1 to 2 mid-week games. That is brutal.

Not suprised, the last couple of years when his crappy squads have missed out on postseason play he has lobbed all sorts of excuses out.

Funny, LSU has lost a handful of players due to injury as well this year, so Jones can take his excuses and shove them.

What's the big deal? He just copied Woody Hayes references to Michigan as "the school up North". If he wants to drum up the rivalry, fine with me. It'll make kicking their arse that much better.

I guess then he didn't say those things even if it was heard just like that on radio.

If tulane only has 6 pitchers in good health, thats bad recuiting. Recruit more than a few pitchers so that if you lose a few to injuries, you can still have some arms left. If they lost too many arms, well dammit you need a new pitching coach to fix those mechanics.

Injuries happen. Sometimes you can't control, coach or recruit aginst them.
Just in case nobody ever told you, there is a limit to the number of players you can recruit.
You realy don't know a lot about sports do you?
