Light rail was a nightmare 2 years ago

Uber was insane

Don't know about parking.

Owlie offered to rickshaw, so that is always an option

Ideas appreciated

I'd say parking your car would be the best option. Light rail is a gigantic hell no and Ubers prices will be insane. The only one I'm not sure of is the metro and I'm sure that won't be fun either.

Get a hotel downtown. On morning of the game, park your car on a side street near NRG, take Metro back to Midtown for tailgating. Take Metro to game, drive back downtown after game.

no issues with parking for Texas Tech bowl game (although most of their fans left early) and the Wisconsin kick off. Was able to get out fairly quickly.

-parked south side Wisconsin, north side TT

I'm not really sure how you can do any better than this.

I'll second the Metro rail being REALLY bad (and it wasn't that great going either...many hours early).

We have a reservation at the Crowne Plaza.

In 2014, we stayed at the Hilton of Americas downtown and rode the rail to the game, about 2 hours before kickoff. We had absolutely no problem with that. After the game, we were heading back to the rail station when I saw a couple of Yellow Cabs and we got in one and were back downtown in 30 minutes.

For the Texas BOwl game, we drove to the stadium and parked in a paid lot. Getting out took too long but it wasn't bad like BR.

This year, we are staying on I-10 West and will drive to and from the stadium.

The one thing I KNOW you don't want to do is ride the light rail back downtown after the game.
