True. He gave a coach who has an 8% win percentage in the SEC a $10M buyout

True. I think it likely happens after this season. I would feel more comfortable if he haven't hired Wade. I think Wade will be successful, but in the end football rules and he will be judged on the Orgeron hire.

He's tied to O. If O is fired within 2 years so will Alleva imo

If we have to fire another coach with a $5M or more buyout, yes

He should be fired if O fails as he let emotions get in the way of hiring the best coach.

Alleva is going to want to have a somewhat long leash with Orgeron, right? Because if he fires him, that means his hire was poor and he's probably on the way out the door, too.

Alleva will be fired before Orgeron if things keep going south, IMO. Then the new AD will fire O and make his own new hire.

False. F King and Alleva are in a committed relationship.

If O needs to be fires, Alleva should be fired first. Let the new AD fire O and hire a new coach

Sadly, false. The people in charge of LSU do not care about athletics.

Yeah I have to say this is true and it will be a good sign. It needs to happen soon but guessing they have to let this football season play out. Fire him in December/January. The new AD can then tell Orgeron he has one year to show something. Paying O his buyout will suck but he will cost the school a lot more money in lost ticket sales and revenues otherwise.

Why are we waiting to fire Alleva? He gave O that ridiculous buyout, that is gross negligence, fire him now.

Right on point.
Alleva should have been fired already but as long as the $$ are flying through the door, no changes will happen.

False. F. King Alexander cares nothing about sports...except what it can pay the university. Just on tv revenue alone, LSU football can pay school bills.

Alleva will retire from LSU I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, with SEC network and corporate Louisiana money, LSU football is going to always be profitable enough to appease Alexander.

Problem is it we need the next AD under the radar and working now. Working behind the scenes lining up potential coaching candidates to interview. If Alleva is fired it will be pretty much known O is too or on a short leash and that will cripple recruiting which is how the mighty have fallen in the past. Theere are only two real way to stop this from happening if Alleva is fired:

1) the new AD comes in and immediately gives O an extension to show loyalty / stability. None of us would want this.

2) the new AD is announced quickly, lets O go before the rumors start, puts someone on the coaching staff as HC or takes the reigns himself for the rest of the year (so not to cause a potential situation where the intern does good and people want him or does bad and everyone wants him fired), and makes a splash higher as soon as bowl season is over. This years recruiting could be somewhat salvaged and the future would look bright.

You choose the scenario.

Not if butts stop being put in the seats. That money cannot be made up. YOu lose on parking fees, concessions, programs and then the restaurants, motels etc. start complaining about poor business. No butts in the seats as Joe Dean once said is what makes and AD pull the trigger.
