Gotta think that he and Maneiri had a talk and Maneiri told him that if he wanted to be an everyday player he should look around.

That puts us at 38/35. So we've still got a few more moves to expect. I don't know how many more will happen before school starts, since time is running low. We'll probably see it after the fall semester.

Probably a good move for Trey. Kid has ability and needs to find a school where he can play every day.

Still have until February to get down to the 35 so there is still plenty of time.

eh, Mainieri really liked Dawson. I think the conversation was more one of those where Dawson wanted a guaranteed starting spot and Mainieri wouldn't guarantee it

Right. There is going to be a ton of competition for ABs this year. SS and 2B are locked in. 1B and DH already have a ton of guys, plus incoming JUCO Nick Coomes. 3B has a returning starter but also seems like the most likely infield spot for competition. But Dawson would be competing with Reid, Smith, Slaughter, Templet, Woley, among others. It's unlikely he wanted to try the OF for playing time, though that's probably where the most opportunity is.
