I'm not flaming or being negative here. He's a good player, just it seems many more of you are a lot more optimistic than I am. Robinson to me stands out as very high upside. White is a good tackler but not a playmaker and was torched so many times last year. What do you see.

if he could catch he would have had something like 5 interceptions.

I think Robinson has a bigger upside, but White is talented as hell.

Every player gets better with experience and White was pretty damn good last year. Robinson progressed throughout the year and he was starting at the tail end. These guys have gotten bigger stronger and maybe faster. The only way to go is up for them.

if he'd caught that one early on Ole Miss' last drive, we win that game. we'd have already been in FG range.

Potential 1st or 2nd team all conference. If he and rashard can play man to man on the outside and be shut down corners, our defense will be filthy

I disagree. I see an extremely talented freshman going through the learning curve. Through the season last year he improved dramatically, which bodes well. And, I'm factoring in our DLine; I always equate DB success to being dependent on pressuring the QB, or at least collapsing the pocket.

At this point in their careers there may be only one better/more upside CB in the SEC, VHIII at UF.

I expect soon (hoping this year) they talk about White using terms similar to "don't throw to his side of the field" or "he takes your best receiver out of the game". Those are my expectations.

White had a better freshman year than Peterson. I'll just leave it at that.

My expectations for White are All-SEC caliber play. I think he and VHIII are the best pure corners in the league.

I agree with the OP. Robinson is the better talent to me. White showed last year he wasn't ready yet but forced into action. He will improve but I think there is a lot of hype that isn't justified yet.

Do you not see how these two sentiments conflict?

Clearly RR is stronger in man, but I think TW is much stronger in zone coverage than RR. Man coverage garners fan attention better than zone play, unless That great zone coverage leads to interceptions - and as someone pointed out TW dropped his opportunities.

It's very hard to get ints in man. PP7 did it, and Deion Sanders, but that's what makes them the best to have ever played. RR is not in that class, and probably never will be. He's a great lock down corner with the perfect attitude, and spidery body, for man; he just doesn't have the athleticism of those two.

The combination of TW and RR leads me to expect total domination of the passing game of every team we play, unless they establish the running game against us.

It's CB dude, PP got torched many times, missed tackles ect it's going to happen. I think he did great for a freshman! You have to think about al the times they didn't throw his way? They didn't for a reason and that's bc he had his man. Like someone said if he would of caught the passed he would have many INTs. I think both will be great corners for us!!

It is my opinion that this is the fan myth based on one performance by RR against Texas A&M. RR was back to not starting against Arkansas, the week after his performance against A&M.

Clearly, the coaches thought that RR was their best matchup with Mike Evans because of his size. But the next week, they were back to starting Mills.

White, meanwhile, started 11 games. He was the better corner last year and his playing time reflects that. And yeah, you saw some growing pains from White, but you would have seen the same thing from Robinson had he been in that position.

Both of these guys were incredible in their freshman season. White had probably the best freshman season for a CB we have seen in a long while and Robinson impressed showing up to campus like 2 weeks before the season. They did all of this with us having to shuffle our starting FS all season. With Mills back there, think he is going to really shine in this posiition, and a year for the CB's to get bigger and stronger, I expect greatness from both of them.

White is 1st/2nd team all SEC last year so I think people saw something.... To be honest, I would be happy with 1st team all SEC with Hargreaves
